I think he deleted it because it can be misconstrued. 
Based off his previous respectful tweet, I think he's saying that people should be more concerned with Max's wellbeing, rather than who is replacing him.
However, I saw a clickbait headline on Facebook earlier saying "McGregor trolls Holloway then deletes tweet". The article made it out like Conor was questioning the legitimacy of Holloway's condition.

I read it a respectful tweet asking about his well being, then his ego realised he's being too respectful and deleted it.

I'm talking about the tweet that was deleted after a few seconds. 2 respectful tweets in a day is too much for his ego. Can't see a reason he'd delete it so quick without reposting it

Mellor I know Conors a decent bloke and would be genuinely upset worried with Max's condition, it wouldn't suit his persona or ego to be that respectfully in public though is my pont

I understood which tweet you meant. I actually edited my post to clarify while you were replying. Imo the first tweet directly to Max was just as respectful/decent. So the ego comment makes no sense to me. That's all.
