They kind of have to, or at least show the aftermath. Can't wait to see it though, will be interesting to see the reactions.

If it gets uploaded and hits 1 million views in a few hours then I suspect you'll see Dana change his tune and start speaking more softly about McGregor while still holding it over him. Since we don't get to see the official PPV numbers when WME took over the next best indicator is the embedded vlogs.

Have a feeling this will all completely go away very fast, sure mcgregor will lose a big chunk of cash but he'll make it back.

At first I was thinking this is beyond the pale, but the amount of money swirling around (and eventually excitement for a McGregor Khabib fight, Mgregor in the Mayweather role) makes me think we'll all have short memories / suspend our morals and tune in.

Sounds like I'm sympathic towards him which I'm not, just cynical about our collective psyche.

Just been texting one of my friends who is very high up in RTE. He says the word at montrose is that they will be stripping McGregor of his 2016 Sportsperson of the year award. Said the chiefs there never wanted to give it to him and were very miffed when he didn't show up. Execs voting on it tomorrow morning.

Hopefully it is awarded to someone more deserving retrospectively.

Sure Dana was the similar after Jones and DC brawled in the casino. When the fight actually happened, they're using the fight as marketing. Will be the same here if Conor and Khabib fight in the future, hell they'll show Khabib slapping Artem, cut to Conor getting on a jet to arriving at Barclay's.

Absolute bluster. He hasn't fought in the UFC or come close to fighting in 18 months. They sacrificed the integrity (or what remained of it) of their organisation to allow him fight Mayweather so everyone could get paid. It's not about "publicly shaming" into anything.

The "Conor McGregor is such a martyr" line is one I never thought I'd hear.

Not one anyone has said either.

Black and white, clearly McGregor wants a better deal from UFC before he fights again.

At no point, did I or anyone else in the last few pages, say he's the victim here, or that he's even right for asking for more.

    There's two sides to this.

Hopefully to one of the O’Donovan brothers. A far finer role model for young lads than that tattooed knuckle-dragger.

Yeah, if there's a call out from Khabib, if he wins, then put it in Russia?

People will be all over that. And call me cynical or stupid, but now Conors name is going to be all over the place now, with a big fight coming up, that he's not even involved in? Controversy won't do him much harm here.

Of all the things happening at the moment, this is probably the one I give less than a fiddlers whistle about.

I also don't believe you, but that's neither here nor there.

If you think McGregor will see prison for this you are away with the fairies.

Closest he will come is possibly a night in lock up or jail before a bail hearing, and thats IF he even gets arrested for this. Worst case scenario for him is arrest, followed by bail, flies home to Ireland and goes back for a court appearance in a few weeks/months where he will he a fine and community service.

    There's two sides to this.

First of all you said they were up to tricks with him.

Then you said they were trying to "publicly shame him into defending his belt".

Do you not realise how pathetic that sounds? The sheer idea that they would even have to shame him into anything?

The UFC, like everyone else, clearly want him to fight. He's their golden goose. There's no conspiracy here ffs.

Where do you think he was? Ireland? If, as others are suggesting, he assembled a crew of people and flew to the States with the intention of carrying out this assault, he's in a world of sh1t.

What others? People on boards? Right. He's not some sort of gang leader. Every one of them is entirely responsible for their own actions.

You dont think the kind of representation he can buy, along with the fact that he has no criminal record whatsoever can keep him out of prison?

As embarassing as this whole incident is, it is probably good for Irish sport in the long term. McGregor can now fade away from the spotlight for good. Maybe the odd appearance as a common criminal.

Sports journalists can focus on true Irish sportsmen like Johnny Sexton, Rory McIlroy and Joe Canning. Forget about guttersnipes like McGregor.

Ah stop will, one of them didn't even wanna represent us at the Olympics

Did McGregor go three rounds on your missus or something? I'm not even his biggest fan but your spouting some nonsense.
