If Arse can convince Ozil to sign a new deal and get Auba over the line this will be a very good transfer window for them.

I've a feeling Ozil will be off in the summer.

They really need to announce a new deal for Wilshere, and start working on people like Ramsey etc tied down too so this does not happen again.

Sounds like there is 10m difference in the Aub deal, surely there would be expected to be a middle ground found there when your talking 50/60m. I think Mikhi will be the Ozil replacement when he leaves for free in the summer.

"#Aubameyang has now total agreement with Arsenal for his contract until 2021. Salary: €10M/season.
Arsenal have started official talks with Borussia Dortmund to reach an agreement... but BVB are going to ask €60M to sell Auba. Let's see"

Local German press saying Dortmund wont sell for less than €70 million.....willing to make him sit in the stands if he doesnt bring that amount to the table. Also some jounalists saying we still may see Arsenal getting reported for tapping him up if BVBs price is not met.

Wilshere has been great for them the last few weeks

Surely Arsenal could do with strengthening in other areas over a central striker?

Is their previous record signing Lacazette now going to be benched most matches? Not to mention France's most prevalent central striker Giroud being pushed further down the pecking order.

At what point to the board start asking why the manager isn't getting the performance levels from the stars they already have....

Auba can play out wide so could just fill in for Sanchez. Whether he's happy playing out wide is a different issue.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I mean he drifts more than the two they already have but he's primarily a central striker for years for Dortmund. Buying him to play him out of position would be truly bizarre.

Arsenal must be going 2 up front? Maybe a 352?

Dortmund are said to be interested in taking Giroud on loan with a view to buy as part of the deal.

    Chelsea inquire about Ashley Barnes.

    Chelsea inquire about Ashley Barnes.

    Sky running with it.

    https://twitter.com/SkySportsNews/status/955082748917665793

Comedy capers at Chelsea over the last few days. Carroll, Crouch, Dzeko and now Barnes.
    It'll be Shane Long next.

Tbf Dzeko would be a quality signing, cant be lumped in with the others.

Ivan Gazidis seen at the private aviation hub of Dortmund Airport this morning and later at the BVB team hotel. Looks like Auba is going to the Gunners......question is if the €70 million plus will be paid. Talks set to continue tomorrow.

I don't think they was a call back on the loan deal.

I don't think they was a call back on the loan deal.

SSN mentioned it yesterday. Supposed to be no recall in the loan.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,787 ✭✭✭SureYWouldntYa

There mighn't be a recall option but surely there can be a couple million offered for them to cancel it rather than spending money on the likes of Crouch or Barnes

    Chelsea inquire about Ashley Barnes.

Given his propensity to throw himself to the ground in any game I've seen him play recently, he'd fit right in there.

Are Chelsea just trolling the January transfer window.

Not sure. One of their fan channels is reporting that Vardy is on his way to them now.

    Dzeko is the standout alright.

Reports that they've approached Leicester for Slimani on loan now.

Aubas brother Willy is running around resturants this evening claiming the family are celebrating the move to London. Claiming that Auba signed a pre contract yesterday on personal terms and that a fee of 73 million and Auba will repay the club all bonuses received since signing a new contract last year. Announcement expected within 72 hours.....

Today Chelsea are linked with Arnautovic.

Callum Wilson/Troy Deeney should be linked over next 48 hours.

Alexis joins Van Dijk, Bonucci, Laporte, Pogba, Dani Alves, Bailly and Mbappe on the list of players who couldn’t turn down the chance to work with Pep. #MCFC

Got a giggle off that tweet

Lassana Diarra joins PSG on 18 month deal.

I mentioned in the Champions League thread following the draw that I thought PSG might look to add someone in this position ahead of the Madrid tie since they are light in that area, but I never would have had Lassana Diarra in mind as the answer. I thought he looked past it when I watched him last season at Marseille. Don't think any Marseille fans were sad to see him go either. Quite a gamble if this is Emery's secret weapon against Madrid.

Arsenal signed Mkhitaryan, great signing potentially for them.

United signed Alexis Sanchez, some Chilean oul fella I believe, could make a good addition to the squad in time. Cover for Lingard sorted now.

Well since he was first quoted as saying it 9 years ago before he was even at Dortmund I'd say he's in no danger of being put in that category.

Nope he's gonna be put in that category. This is football. Reasoning and context rarely apply.

Never would have thought I'd see Sanchez at United at the start of the season. Great coup for the club.

City have announced that KDB has signed a contract extension at the same time that Utd announced Sanchez.

Is it me or does it seem petty and trying save face or was it a happy coincidence? :pac:
