Heavily armed terrorists have seized control of the Nakatomi building, century city LA.
Unconfirmed reports have reported an unknown number of terrorists, six or more armed with automatic weapons on the 30th floor of Nakatomi Plaza.

I remember hearing on one of Kevin Smith's podcast that the scene where Hans Gruber kills Harry Ellis was added into the movie to illustrate that Hans and the terrorist were the bad guys. Apparently before the scene was done, Hans was considered to be too sympathetic as a villain, so they put it in to make him look evil.

Because blowing Takagi's head off wasn't mean-spirited at all? The ****e people talk...

    One great movie.
When did it become a christmas movie tho? Only heard that in the last couple of years with youtube etc. Growing up it was always just a great action movie. Anyone else the same?

With the production value of that documentary, thinking it's a movie is a very easy mistake to make.

Has anyone thought about the Gruber family and the circumstances in which they lost their beloved son/brother?

i understand his brother will be travelling for the funeral. If time allows perhaps John could meet him half-way (say New York) to explain the circumstances of Hans' fall and help the family get some closure.

I'm thankful this is now a globally known event and John McClane will get the freedom of his home city. Making it safe to walk through any of the NY boroughs and be received like the hero he, undoubtedly is.

This thread should be locked, people have died in this incident and their families could be reading Boards.ie, its disgraceful for people to be discussing it in this manner.

They won't be joining them for the rest of their lives....
