I anticipate a few more drones buzzing around on Christmas Day in the hands of "highly responsible" children .

If a drone hits and injures someone (assume negligence present) would that be covered under the liability section of a household insurance policy ?

A child is unlikely to be held negligent, but to answer your question generally, most personal liability sections in a household policy will allow for incidents within a specified range, such as; "model aircraft with a wingspan of no more than X, with and engine size no bigger than Y, not being used in competition or displays etc"

You should read the T&C for your household insurance policy, they probably have them online.

Just had a quick look at Aviva's home policy and it seems to specifically exclude public liability claims arising from drones. Yoiks..

    Be warned..........
