Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Do HRM send you back an acknowledgement email when you confirm you are accepting the position?

Just wondering does anyone know once you have passed all stages is there still a chance you could just be unsuccessful and not be called to Templemore at all?

Yes there is that dreaded generally unsuitable letter. Senior management and Commissioner has the final say and decides on your application. It's rare but still nevertheless people do receive them letters.

Oh ok has this happened in recent campaigns I wonder or in the past when they just had too many applications? I’d hope they wouldn’t leave it two years to send out any such letter

Yes I have heard it from a few people on here from January 2016 and September 2016 campaigns.

Were the candidates who were not accepted given a reason why not?

As far as I know they have the option of taking up an informal appeal followed by a formal appeal if you disagree with their reasoning.

Quick question for people going to the induction. What do you wear for the few days? Is it a suit or just formal clothes. I know you have to wear a suit on the 23rd.Any feedback would be appreciated.

Bring your suit and a few shirts and ties. I've heard you can get your Garda tracksuit on the first day and wear that for the rest of the induction week.

I can't believe it I'm after getting offered April this evening. I only met my Inspector this morning who said he was recommending me to HRM later and that I'd prob make July Batch. Then at 17:30 I get an email inviting me to start April 23rd. Induction for 4 days from April 9th to 12th. Over the moon and speechless

I only done it last Tuesday and final interview with Inspector this morning. I didn't think my security would be clear as I have big family and some aunts in London and New York. I also had a holiday booked to New York in June but after cancelling it and getting a full refund thank god

Don't put any weight on OOM, don't put any weight one what year your from either. It doesn't matter, there is some other selection criteria at play here. My guess is location, they know where your going before you even sign a form, it's the only logical thing I can think of.
