We are flying from Shannon to Orlando via Newark next June with United airlines

We do the pre-clearance in Shannon, so when we get to Newark will they get know we have cleared already and same goes when we arrive in orlando or is there as particular line we will have to q up in

    sorry for stupid question

Once you pre-clear in Ireland you are done. In Newark you will simply walk off the plane and the Orlando flight will be in the next gate beside you most likely.

If you didn't pre-clear in Ireland you would land in a special area of the airport and then be directed to immigration before being able to proceed any further.

It's also possible that you will need to change terminals. But once you have pre-cleared in SNN you will arrive as a domestic passenger.

It's all quite simple and no need to get stressed over.

Basically the same response as the last poster. But also, once you have boarded in Shannon, there's a good chance you'll know already which Gate at Newark your connecting flight will be leaving from. The United in flight magazine should have a map for you to verify where that is and the cabin crew can tell you the quickest way of getting to that next gate. Newark's a decent airport compared to many of them and relatively easy to navigate. The fact that you'll have done the pre-clearance in Shannon makes it a breeze!

I've found Newark to be quite good and easy for connections compared to other US airports... Connections are generally quite close coming off the Irish flights...
