Downloading XBox1

Staying with mother in law and young lad has got XBox1 .. of course no WiFi in her house but he's mad to download and we are goingoing to do it using personal hotspot on my mobile ... I don't have unlimited data so if it's 1Gbyte will I be fleeced or is it not too bad a cost ?

Depends on your data allowance and how much you've used already. If you have a gig left it won't cost, if you don't it could be up to maybe €12 with Vodafone for example

Any games downloaded will be well in excess of 1GB, staggeringly so when your mobile bill arrives

I’d check it out before downloading. My little fella got fifa 18 from santa - 48gb. Bog standard games would be 15 - 20 gb

If you're thinking of doing it without any sort of data allowance or addons then you're mad. My data addon expired a few days ago and I lost €10+ within two days of light use.

Most games will be several GB anyway so small data addons will probably be useless. You'll need a plan that lets you use a **** tonne of data.

Downloaded 1.2gb which , were I live would normally and consistently take about 1-2 hours.No messing.It was complete in 8 mins!!!!

Depends where you are. If everyone has fecked off out of the area there's likely less pressure on the mast so you get your porn faster.

Game updates and software updates will probably be over 50gigs for a new xbox. Not sure if you can play without updating, if not then don't bother.

if your a virgin customer you could set up horizon wi-free and if your neighbours have virgin you can connect to them if you see the horizon wi-free signal, never got it working myself but something to consider

Don't know what you were downloading but my usual downloading speed is around 5mbps yet some games on Steam download up to 20-25mbps for me for some weird reason.

OP stay the f*** away from downloading in your scenario! Maybe check though if there's some kind of one-day option online to see if you can pay €10-20 and download however much you want.
