Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Ugh.

On a night like this, on a pitch like that, against that many bodies back, you'd have to worry.

Are you implying Karius should have saved that?

    And again from a corner.

When was the last time Liverpool conceded from a corner?

    Its absolutely not fine.

Its quite clear in some of the dribbling so far that the ball is being affected.

Seriously, this is a poor excuse, the surface is not stopping them playing football.

We need someone to organise the defence....

Poor goal to concede, but please don't start blaming Karius on it.

Ball just bounced right for Swansea and they scored.

I'm still confident that Liverpool can win this.

I said before the game this had draw written am over it although I didn't expect us to go down to Swansea. It's been a dreadful game so far whether that's to do with the pitch whatever I don't know but they need to get their head in the game

more of the same at the back, robertson booked now and all, the ref can't find his cards for the swansea fouls.

Surface is very heavy. Poor by premier league standards.

....... the ref can't find his cards for the swansea fouls.

We're due a change of luck with ref decisions this season IMO, we've been unlucky often.

    Yikes, too many yellows

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,948 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Fcuk sake Mane, not an easy chance but no composure at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

That Mane chance just there is a huge moment in this game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,397 ✭✭✭✭Turtyturd

    Ffs Mane.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 40,061 ✭✭✭✭Harry Palmr

****ing classic case of the team with nothing to lose making life difficult and now confident.

Mane you plonker - replay shows it was slightly tricky to be fair

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 831 ✭✭✭daingeanrob

so flippin close, deserved a goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,480 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Are you implying Karius should have saved that?

Why not, a better starting position and a dive and a save is what keepers do, we should not expect that of a Liverpool keeper though.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,861 ✭✭✭Mr.H

Passing has been sloppy. The pitch isnt great but it still seems like we are being lazy with the passing. Even a few times taking too long on the ball

Mane should do better with that chance

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,509 ✭✭✭✭noodler

I'll actually give mane a pass there, always stretching for it.

He slipped, can't do much with it once he lost his standing leg.

Dare I say it but the type of game against a packed defence where you'd need Coutinho to lash in a free-kick or a 30 yarder.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,037 ✭✭✭✭niallo27

The goal was down to VD for me. Gave away a completely needless corner.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,438 ✭✭✭j8wk2feszrnpao

Hard to pick a Liverpool player that you could say has played well in the first half.
Neither FB can put in a decent cross, and Robertson out of position so often.
    CDFs have had dodgy moments.
Can reverted back to his usual self. Wijnaldum Running around doing nothing, Ox not far off that.
Front 3 not clicking and Mane still not looking himself.
No decent pace in that first half; ton of work to get back into this.

    "Better starting position"

Yeah, why doesn't he just stand directly where the ball is going to go? Has he not thought of that? Surely someone should tell him.

Our midfield is rubbish yet again,I can't for the life of me see what can brings to the table

Mane love a dramatic finish, again he had time to take it down and calmly roll it in. Kung Fu Mane again.

No offence but that's complete bollicks.

The front three and the midfield are not in synch at all, Firmino and Salah need to be closer together - I'd actually move Mane to the right, Ox to the left and play Firmino/Salah as a two

This is essentially Swanseas game plan working perfectly, set up shop from kick off and hope to nick a goal out of nothing which is what they've got. The big question is can klopps Liverpool break down a team that has zero interest going forward, we always struggle and are certainly struggling here. A couple of nearly moments but that's about it. Still 45 to turn it around so I won't panic just yet.

Ah now, he's poor and all but that was in no way his fault.

Not his fault. A shot from that distance could have just as easily been aimed at the far side of the net. Way too much to cover when we thought the ball was cleared by Virgil.

No keeper would be 'expected' to save that.

Ridiculous. He’s probably the last reason we are not winning this. Starting position? Middle of the goal? It was finished very well into the corner.
You don’t like Karius, ok. None of us really do. But not much he, or another keeper, could have done with that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,948 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Not every goal is to blame on one person lads, VvD gave away the corner yeah, through defending a cross into the box. He also won the header from the corner, and no one on the team managed to get near the second ball, as is often the case with us.
