Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I think there should be much more interaction between the 2 sets of fans, the problem is a small number from both sides ruin it. That and the fact most Man Utd fans are just dreadful people.

    Game set and match :pac:

You're welcome. Right let's forget all that. Are we losing yet?]

Seeing possibly both Ejaria and Lloyd Jones (who was being talked about as a future Liverpool captain 5 or 6 years ago) being sent on loan, you'd surely be forgiven for wondering why we bother with an academy anymore.

It seems like it's too difficult for players barring 1 in a 100 like Sterling to break into the senior team at 18 or 19 and if that's the case, they're just not going to get the game time to develop.
Brannagan, Suso, Pacheco, Kacaniclic, Teixeira... there's been plenty of players down through the years who've seen to excel at younger ages and even had a few decent performances in the cups, but nothing ever comes of it.

Now you see Suso making a name for himself but that's as a 24 year old, which is what you'd expect for most footballers.
If Sterling hadn't had blinding pace he never would've got within an ass's roar of the first team. What's the path through for everyone else?

It's not about interaction it's about people expressing their views. Maybe the sudden influx is because we have been told not to talk about Liverpool or other rivals in the United thread which is fine.

Is it a mod told you not to discuss Liverpool on your own thread? If so they might open another thread for you to discuss Liverpool rather than ****ing up this thread

We're at it tonight, really going at it hard. Good to see, fighting for everything.

What about the match? How is that going?

Already Mane's been played in behind and would've been in for a 1v1 but he controlled it poorly and knocked it behind him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,775 ✭✭✭✭Gbear

Going very vertical early on. Seem to forcing it a bit though. Can't gather the ball and the passes through are often to players with too many defenders around.

Robertson is so poor at crossing. Defensively seems sounds, but going forward, just not good enough. A problem when the FBs can see so much of the ball in the final third.

He is very fast to be fair to him needs to adjust his game for going forward work on his end product.

    The goalkeeper made a save

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,465 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Shot on target and no goal, due to a crap finish.
    FFS
At least Karius was capable of saving the crap shot .

Last thing I was expecting there was a cracking save from Karius. Fair dues to him.

He def has qualities, but he's yet to show it in t he final third; he's had a good long run now, so should be better by this stage.

I pretty much used this exact tone of voice and choice of words too, and had to convince the missus I wasn't actually being sarcastic.

    Have we changed tactics?

Can and Henderson need to swap roles.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,465 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Replay showed shot was into ground and the pace was taken off ball. Had it let that in I would have driven to ground and punched him .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,932 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

The Huddersfield chance came from the fact that none of our midfielders tracked the runner, he shows up on the edge of the box completely unmarked. Happens a lot with us.

What age is he? He is still young I thought?

3 man mid, It happens too often.
That and Gomez was out of position, pulling Matip out of the middle.

24yrs in March. Plenty of PL football played, and International football. He's not young like Gomez/TAA.
