Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Normally I wouldn’t say something like this but I hope someone fcuking does Holgate for that.

Gerrard always got rough with anyone that challenged a team mate unfairly. Milner will let it slide though.

Calvert Lewin diving to end the half, what's new.

Could Holgate get a retrospective ban for that?

Probably not. Either way, no use to us. How he didn't get a yellow is beyond me though.

How is Rooney getting away with constantly shouting at the ref......

2 minutes of time added on there was at least 4 wasted on the ref not having a clue what to do about Firmino being pushed.

    Mad passive refereeing by Madley.

Ridiculous that he didn't get a yellow, the second push was a yellow as was putting hus hands on the ref the way he did.

Overall, happy to be in front. Defence looks very solid. Hopefully Rooney slides in for another yellow early in the second half .

Poor game though, we need another.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,991 ✭✭✭sword1

Neither one of them were on the pitch and he shoved him into the hoarding or whatever the right name is, surely there will be retrospective action now that the ref hasn't acted, as it is not on the pitch it could be classed as assault

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,204 ✭✭✭✭paulie21

Has there ever been a player who gets in the refs face as much as Rooney without anything ever been done about it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,456 ✭✭✭larrymiller

Never mind spitting, I wouldn't have blamed Firmino for kicking his head off after that.

I nearly punched the dog I was so mad.. dunno how bob didn't kill em

If there’s going to be a big controversy over this penalty, will the inevitable hashtag be #HolgateHoldGate?

Shearer bringing out the "contact sport" sh talk after being adamant it was a clear penalty for Everton a few weeks ago.

Come on to be fair it was a push but not a red. He didnt mean to push him into the crowd and its only tensions that make it seem like he should be sent off. Of course there wont be retrospective punishment its not like he headbutted him. It wasnt violent or anything.

He pushed him while they were running towards the crowd, if he didn't mean to push him into the crowd then where did he mean to push him?

Haha not a peno. He held him ffs and stopped him from getting a strike away

I hope we win with that peno.

    But also another 3/4.

Where else could he have ended up after the push? A big pile of pillows? He knew what he was doing, don’t fool yourself.

Ah he pushed him just as they crossed the line. Im sure it was just frustration. I dont think its a red though. If this was two other teams we would just think its heating up but we certainly wouldnt think its a red

To be honest, I think both penos in the 2 derbies were a bit soft. One each. Not convinced either shudda been given.

Only the Neanderthals in England factor that sort of machismo bull**** carry on into "reffing the occasion".

Old British grit, something something, Churchill, something something.

Some dickhead above Madley has said to him that he had to make an occasion of it and someone's going to head off the field in a stretcher because of it.

I think a red would have been harsh is all (im trying to think of it without it being on a Liverpool player)

Jaysus the BBC and the pundits see nothing wrong with Everton's play tackles or anything.

It's all Fun Bobby's fault Holgate got mad.

Rooney's nasty tackle is ok because he old and slow.

    The bbc lads are laughable

I’m not the best lip reader but I think Firmino may have called him a whore in Portuguese.

Or was he talking about his auld lady? The plot thickens. :pac:

It looks like he held him in slow motion... In real time he put his hands on him for a millisecond. Never a peno - the game is fcuked when that's a certain peno.

Shearer talking bollox, he was all over the Everton penalty last month praising Calvert-Lewin last week.
Maddely is clearly inept two bad decisions in Swansea and now this. It’s two yellows for Holgate but he bottled it.

BBC insinuating something was said too is a bit much.
Refusing to call Rooney out on his tackle too.

Holgate gives away a penalty, pushes Firmino into the crowd, and grabs and pulls the ref, not even booked.

Have been a bit down on Robertson but he's impressed me tonight. Think he'll be chuffed when he logs on later.

And I wouldn't mind, he nearly pushed him off the chair :).
Excuses for Holgate as Bobby said something to him, poor lad must have hurt his feelings!

He is eemmmm English........never do your own ;);)

If it was Bobby, Mane, VVD or Can they would be calling for a red and suspension after the push on Bobby.

Mason Holgate is from Doncaster, so I doubt he had a clue what that means.
