    Hi

I'm looking to wipe an old PC Hard Drive now used as an external hard drive.

Would anyone know of any good free software that I could use ?

I don't want to wipe my current PC Hard Drive while I'm at it so any simple to use software would be great.

    Thanks!

A you selling it? If not just format it in windows but do a full format. Just remember to un-tick the quick format.

Formatting, even full, won't cut it. It leaves readable data.

Best thing is to have the disk overwritten multiple times (at least 7 times) using DBan [ https://dban.org/ ] or the Drive Wiper function in ccleaner [ https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download ].

Windows is sufficient for it if you are keeping it (if not ue Dban above).

Go to My Computer Right Click on the drive and click format.

Cheers all. Very helpful. I'll give CCcleaner a go.
