    Hi Guys,

I was thinking of buying a decent home cinema set of speakers and Av receiver. I previously had an all in one samsung system that only worked with the blu ray player both the system and the player were poor.  Main use would be for everyday tv and for movies blu rays/dvds aswell as music dvds and music. It doesn't have to be really loud as I have a 3 year old light sleeper :-) but obviously decent sound would be great. I have been looking a lot online and on what hifi for prices and reviews. My friend has a set of B&W mt50 which are very good and he loves but even though a few years old they seem out of my price range.

I was  looking at the Q Acoustics Q7000i 5.1 and the Monitor Audio Mass 5.1, both seem to have decent reviews. It is for a room size 5.2m x 3.5m if that matters.  I was leaning towards the Q Acoustics based on reviews mainly and the fact that the rear speakers could be easily hung on the wall without stands and the base was narrow. I did read that its not great at lower volume but i'm not sure if that was nit picking or I would even notice. The monitor Audio looks nice and is cheaper but i'm not sure how easy it would be to wall mount the speakers if that was needed. Not a huge deal as I may use shelving.

Also could you recommend an Av receiver to go with either set of speakers? And will the Q acosutics or something similar you would recommend be going on sale anytime in the new Year?

Sorry for all the questions and thanks for any help.
    Cheers

    Hi Polar58.

Apologies for the delay. Seems we missed your post.

Both the 7000i pack and the Mass pack are great speakers.

You could look at the following:
Denon AVRX2400 paired with the Q7000i Plus pack priced at £1049.00
    https://www.richersounds.com/denon-avrx2400-black-and-q-acoustics-q7000i-5-1-plus-black.html

The Denon with the Mass pack coming in at £789.00
    https://www.richersounds.com/denon-avrx2400-black-and-monitor-audio-mass-5-1-system-black.html

There is also the Sony STRDN1080 with the Mass pack for £899.00
    https://www.richersounds.com/sony-strdn1080-black-and-monitor-audio-mass-5-1-system-black.html

Or with the Q7000i plus pack £1099.00
    https://www.richersounds.com/sony-strdn1080-black-and-q-acoustics-q7000i-5-1-plus-black.html

Any of these would be a very nice system indeed.

There are wall mounts for the mass speakers which are easy to install, priced at £12.95 each
    http://www.richersounds.ie/p-12320-masm-single.aspx

You would also require speaker cable and a sublink to connect everything together.

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks for the reply,
I think the monitors are more my price range as i cant stretch for the Q acoustics.
What would be the best price (euro) for what you mentioned the Denon pack:

The Denon with the Mass pack coming in at £789.00
    https://www.richersoun...-1-system-black.html

Along with 1 set of the montor audio floor stands for rear speakers??

    Thanks again

    Hey Polar58.

The Mass speakers are excellent and you will not be disappointed at all.

In Euro the 2400 and the Mass 5.1 would be 925 Delivered.
I could do a pair of the Mass stands for 115 Euro.

Totals would be either £886.75 or 1040 Euro.

You can pay in which ever currency works out to be the cheapest for you.

    Hi Kenny,
Thanks for your help so far, Im set on the monitor audio 5.1 as the speakers.
I see from reviews the Denon AVRX2400 is a great receiver. My only issue at the moment is space for the Denon on my current set up.
I was wondering is there a big difference in the Denon AVRX2400 and say the Marantz NR1508 receiver?? Only reason I'm looking at the Marantz is it would fit my current unit set up, but if it would be a big difference in quality or anything id rather make the Denon work.
Id get the rear monitor stands also as mentioned earlier.
If ordering using a visa card, would this be done over the phone?

    Hi Polar58.

The Marantz NR1508 is also a great amp and is designed to be sleeker in size, it also has a lot of the feature of the 2300, Heos built in etc... You would be more than happy with either of these.

The NR1508 does drop Atmos unfortunately if that might be something you where interested in future.
The AVRX2400 is much more powerful coming in at 95w to the 50w of the NR1508 (Per channel).
No real bundle deal on the NR1508 with the Mass 5.1. Total price would be £798.00 delivered.

I could offer pair of the Mass stands for £100.

For placing the order in can be done over the phone. Just drop me your contact number and we can give you a buzz :)
