Suggestions in UK for 1-2 night stop

Heading over to uk for a wedding in Oct next year. Just close to London, staying there 2 nights Taking car on ferry as planning a 4-5 day trip. Any suggestions for a 1-2 night stopover between London and Holyhead wth 2 teenage boys to spend? We’ll be leaving London on Sunday so might try catch a match depending on fixture…
