    Warning: mini rant ahead.
    PCP at its finest!

I can't for the life of me understand why people buy diesels on PCP. Over the three year term usually the mileage limits mean you don't get much of a saving at all (if any) yet you have the added complications of DPF/DMF/Blue Urine "Adblue"/etc to contend with.

I may be buying new in the next 12 months, and would not consider buying anything other than a hybrid or full EV at this point.

There’s many, many, MANY threads regarding PCP elsewhere in this forum and in Buying & Selling.

That Lexus LC has to be one of the best posts in this thread so far.

Also, I noticed that newly registered cars take a good few days to update on cartell.ie or motorcheck.ie.

I thought for a minute there that you were going to say you left in your 10 year old car and bought that.

Wow what a stunning looking car and it has got lots of great reviews too. Be a very lucky person that has bought that.

I'm dying to see one of the 100 rumoured Lexus LS that are ordered for this year.

I'm dying to see them in them in the Luxobarge thread in 10 years time!

English plates look better than 181s.
    A 2013 14 15 has probably got a better spec than the 181 too

Seen a grey BMW 520D 181-KE-164. Surely there is nicer colours than grey for it as it looked rather boring in grey but the interior looked nice beige seats and a classy dash in it.

Space grey is a lovely colour IMO. Will always look classy with Oyster leather.

Hadn't seen any until today and then in the space of an hour saw 5, their owners must have been taking them out for walkies of a saturday :D

First was a Mini One in an odd orange colour, actually looked very nice with the black contrast of tyres/wheels and black wheel arch surrounds. Next was a Polo, then Quashqai, Tucson and finally a hybrid Auris.

That was a good spotting day. The Mini might look nice but Id say it will not do it any good in that colour when it comes to selling it do might hurt the resale value but fair play to them for going for it.

Id say the Qashqai owner will be getting another new car next year.

Two spots this morning, a new model Insignia (quite like the look of these) and a X5.

A white Seat Ibiza and a Skoda Kodiaq that tried to run me over in unidentified colour...

I spotted a white 181 Arteon in Clondalkin this morning. White is not a colour that I would pick, if I was buying an Arteon.

A 181 Hyundai krona this morning in red. Wouldn’t be my choice of colour for it.

Its Hyundai Kona. That must be the first one on the road then. I have seen lots of the Kia Stonic but none of them yet. What colour would you go for?

I didn’t like the red as it looked to be a dull matt red but I’d prefer black or a more vibrant red

I think VW are nearly always slow out of the trap this time of year as a good few of their cars are factory orders that may not have arrived in the first week of January. I'd imagine they will catch up when the entire monthly figures get taken into account.

What build week was your T-Roc ?

It was build week 51. I got the production dates from my dealer and it shows all the different stages of production. The small issue with the production of the T Roc is that the plant shut for week 52. So it left Portugal last Thursday, its due in to Dublin tomorrow on one of the VW Car Carrier ships. Dealer has said I will have it late next week or early following one.

A VW production file looks like this:

    Order Entry Dealer System 31/10/17
    Order Entry NADIN 31/10/17
    Order Registration IFA 07/11/17
    Buildability Check 07/11/17
    SGW Rebooking 07/11/17
    Current SGW Determination 07/11/17
    Allocation of product plant 21/11/17
    Handover to production 22/11/17
    Start Body Shell Shop 19/12/17
    End Body Shell Shop 20/12/17
    Start Paint Shop 20/12/17
    End Paint Shop 21/12/17
    Start Final Assembly 21/12/17
Checkpoint 8 Handover to Sales 02/01/18
    Start Service Shop
    End Service Shop
    Exit Production Plant 03/01/18
Arrival Port of Shipment 03/01/18 •

    Departure Port of Shipment 11/01/18
    Departure last Port of Transit
Arrival at Port of Destination 17/01/18
Departure from Port of Destination 17/01/18

    Arrival at Importer 18/01/18

I’m waiting on a Tiguan. Originally meant to be built in WW03 but was then told it was due for arrival at importer 12/1/18, way ahead of schedule. Anyway it didn’t arrive but the dealer says it’s due in tomorrow. Would like to think I’ll have it next week, ordered it all the way back in October!

Ye might as well drag it out to February and save a months tax

All VW cars for Ireland go through Emden Port in Germany, regardless where they are built. They only ship to Ireland once a week, so a car could be sitting on the Docks in Germany for a week or so waiting on a boat.
