Open Riser Stairwell

    Hi

We have an open Riser Stairwell and a new baby on way. We are going to use gates at the top and bottom of stairs but looking at ways to safeguard the steps.

All the solutions I've seen use metal bars in between the risers which don't look great.
Would be nice to keep the look of the house so I was thinking would toughened glass work or anyone else solve this problem before i.e safeguard the stairs but keep the look and feel of the original design.
