Radius HD370 Failure

Gutted,

Went to use my system today and the Radius HD370 Sub is dead, tried changing to another socket, tried changing fuse and tried changing cable, won't power up at all.

I have Supercare on this item.

Please advise

Hi Slave

I'm not in the office at the moment unfortunately but from memory the radius has an internal fuse and this can blow as protection - however(again from memory) there is a spare fuse located / hidden! Directly under the mains socket in a little compartment?

Might be worth checking out as generally the radius subs are reliable (I have 2 myself!)

I don't mind checking this out myself, I did not want to touch the unit in case it invalidated the warranty etc.
Are you okay with me taking the back plate off carefully and investigating.

Certainly easier than shipping back to you at my cost if it was something simple like this so just let me know...

If I'm right the spare fuse is located on the back of the Radius sub in the mains lead socket assembly-you don't have to open the back of the unit at all - the fuse and the spare fuse holder will pop out together - you just need a tiny screwdriver to pop it open.

Again I'm working from memory but have a look in the first instance or of course check your manual.

I popped it off, could not see anything, rather than mess it up I'll look into shipping for repair.
I have the box still, is there any Dublin address to ship to as an option by chance?

Apologies I'm probably not explaining it well - if you look at where the mains lead plugs in you will see a small fuse holder - this holds the main fuse for your sub and a spare .

You do not have to take the back panel off at all.

Check the owners manual out - it shows a clear diagram and explains it:

May not fix it but I'd be surprised if it does not!

Thanks for those posts John, downside of a dark room is I could not see the rear properly last night, this morning I replaced the fuse and nothing.
Checked the replacement fuse I just put in and it was blown straight away by the sub so will look into getting it back to ye.

Have you Philips Hue Lightstrip extensions in stock, I'll go for two of them please and pretty sure they can fit in the sub box if that makes sense.

Hi guys, recieved the sub today, thanks for the repair ..... but.........

When I connect it to my Marantz SR7011 via trigger there's a loud hum, even when the volume is turned down?
I did a quick search and found mention of ground loop issue but that could be a red herring.
I see ground connections on the rear of the SR7011 but they look like turntable and FM plus I could not see any ground terminal on the sub.
Major part of my current upgrades is to hide all the speakers pretty much permanently so I need trigger functionality...

Any advice

I will need to have a look into this for you as it's an issue I haven't dealt with yet. Let me do a bit of digging and get back to you.

Thanks, there's plenty of internet hits on this, to help snag I've...

Tried three different subwoofer cables
Tried four different trigger cables (including the Monitor Audio one that came with the sub)
Earthed the SR7011
Tried a car ground loop isolator I had knocking around
Nothing from any of the above...

What worked a little was "grounding" the SR7011 and sub directly to each other, this was via the SR7011 ground terminal to a screw on the back of the sub.
The hum was reduced but still well audible....

I've ordered a "hum destroyer" to see if that will work, will let you know how I get on...

Received the hum destroyer this morning but it looks like it does not allow any power to pass through as when I use it the sub will not power on at all via trigger so this is not a solution, going to try and return it.

So any advice please, a receiver with a trigger port should turn on a sub without any of this hum?
