Don't think so, especially when I still scratch a few silly holes every round. Get them back to doubles, then singles and then i'll try again!!

Junior and Senior Scratch Cup on in Portumna this weekend.

Was meant to go to it as practice for Junior Cup qualifiers which are going on down there but going to a wedding instead for the Junior Cup, so playing the Captains prize in Athlone instead.

I love portumna though, the greens are always superb!

nut hold on, you are off 19. you are in a scratch cup with handicappers higher than you. nobody lower. all you need is 17 bogeys and 1 double and chances are you will be in hte hunt. you are well able to sneak a few pars in there.
don't put yourself down, you are well able and i genuinely think you should enter a few, if nothing else, it will be good for your game.

Junior and Senior Scratch Cup on in Portumna this weekend.

Played with winner of senior scratch. We had lost junior cup in morning out in east Clare so went up to Portumna to play the scratch cups.

Won it with 1 under but he was 5 under thru 12. Thought he had blown it really. Played unbelievable golf for first 12 holes but couldn’t quiet put it in right positions off the tee for last 6 holes.

Course was in great condition. Tough to judge bounce if landing short but greens were still receptive and they were rolling beautifully.

Same lad win dundrum scratch cup with 3 under total. 5 under back 9.

Ya, he seems to be the real deal, in college in the states. Saw him play a bit in senior cup this year for Kinsale in Cork GC. Now gone to a +5 handicap:eek:

    His 66 gross was a 71 nett:D
