    Hi lads,

Looking to buy a UHD blu-ray player to pair with a 49" Samsung KS7000 I bought off you last year and the Sony X800 seems to be the recommended entry/low-mid-spec model.

I'm also looking for a soundbar/soundbase/speakers to pair with the TV, blu-ray player and my PS4 but I'm kinda going goggle eyed in the process. Could you recommend something to me? The soundbar would mostly be used for gaming and general viewing with movies, not much in the way of pure music.

If I had say a total budget of around €500 with me collecting from you in Belfast what sort of Boardsie deal could you do for me? Would be buying in the next week or so.

    Hi ZeirgeistGlee.

Thanks for coming back to us.

The X800 is a great little player and I'm looking to get one myself over the next few weeks.
I really don't have any movement on the price of this unfortunately. Currently priced at £269 or 319.99 euro
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-202586-ubpx800.aspx

Leaves around 200 Euro for sound.

There is the Roth Neo 6.2 Soundcore which is a soundbase and very well spec'd.
We only have on display unit left at the moment which I could clear at £150. Originally retailed at £299

You could also look at the Steljes ERATO priced at £129
    http://www.richersounds.ie/p-202989-400477.aspx?swapstore=1

There is also the POLK Audio Signa S1 (Optical rather than HDMI) priced at £169.00

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Hi Kenny,

    Fair enough on the X800.

If I upped the budget another €50 would that be enough to squeeze in the Cambridge Audio TV5 (v2)? Would it be much of an improvement over the Roth Neo?

Alternatively I have a fair bit of space in my sitting room so I'm not against a dedicated 5.1 set of speakers. Would I need an AVR or could I run them directly from the TV?

    Cheers,
    Zeit

    Zeit,

unfortunately we are a country mile off being able to do the Sony UDPX800 and the Cambridge Audio TV5 at €550 - really the current €329 / €299 prices on the Sony X800 / Cambridge Audio TV5 are pretty much as low as we can go - I could literally shave €15 off to get to €613 all in.

    Keep us posted,

    ATVB,

Ah sorry, I should've said earlier I'm planning to pay in pounds in-store like previously but I've been converting over to euro out of habit. I'll stick to pounds to avoid confusion.

I see the X800 has gone up a fair bit overnight, don't suppose we can still do it for the original £269?

[Edit] Will you be stocking the Yamaha YAS 107 in the future by any chance?

    Hi ZeitgeistGlee.

I could honour the £269 on the x800 if purchased today or tomorrow. Our sale pricing is starting to come to an end.

No plans on the YAS107 at the moment.

We do have the 207 priced at £269.00

    Hi Kenny,

Yeah it would be tomorrow, based in Limerick so I'd be driving up to you.

The 207 is tempting, it gets a lot of excellent reviews but I've also seen complaints about the subwoofer cutting in and out at low volumes levels. Are you familiar with the issue yourself? How would you compare the 207 to say the Cambridge Audio TV5 V2 or the Q Acoustics Media M2?

    Cheers,
    Zeit

    Hi Zeit.

We have not experienced that fault with the 207's ourselves.
It was product of the year in what HiFi and also 5 star reviewed by them.

The TV5 V2 and the M2 are good in their own right but the 207 is the better of them.
