Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Distribution board and heat pump location

Does anybody know of any regulations regarding location of electrical distribution boards and water heaters?
We are starting a new build soon and plan to put the inside unit of an air to water heat pump and the electrical board in what is essentially a small plant room 900x2100, half of which is under the stairs.
Somebody has said it is against the regs to have either of these under the stairs but since it is more a small room than a cupboard I dont see the issue.

    Anybody have insight to this?
I am new to this so dont know how to put pics in but have plans if this would help

It's against regs I'm afraid. Check the ETCI Regs yourself, don't rely on "someone" that says it's ok, or "someone else" that says it's not.

Is it just the board that can't be under the stairs or both. Look at the potential to put a gas boiler in a similar space under our stairs. Would make it accessible from the outside only. I ran it past a few engineer friends and they seemed to think there would be no issue against it once the space was well ventilated. Could slab it out with plasterboard for additional fire protection!
