Looking for Tracker Mortgage Advisor

    Hi there,
Would anyone have any recommendations for someone with expertise in mortgages? We have two mortgages for the last ten years, one was a smaller top-up mortgage. We changed from fixed rate to tracker in 2010.
We received a letter from Bank of Ireland Dec 17 informing us that they had made a mistake in the smaller top-up mortgage and will repay us €50. There is no mention of our main mortgage.
We have all the relevant statements from the Bank of Ireland but we need someone with expertise to review our mortgages. We are willing to pay a reasonable fee.
Thanks for your help in advance.

This guy would be by far the best bet, don't know his fees though

You can request a copy of all correspondence from BOI from the date the mortgage was drawdown to end of December 2017. If you had a tracker rate at any stage from drawdown and went on a fixed rate and at expiry was put on standard variable instead of a tracker you have a case.

Did BOI give you an explanation of how they came up with €50 as I have seen papers from BOI where they paid out overpayment, interest on overpayment, compensation and a fee for an advisor to check their figures and it came to 18 pages and showed where the overcharging was made.

    Thanks Trish
Yes its reasonably detailed about 12 pages long. Their main line is "We can confirm that you were charged an incorrect margin on your tracker interest rate between May 2010 and June 2010"

Just wondering why you were only overcharged for 1 month - did you switch your mortgage to another lender? It may be in your interest to contact Padraig Kissane as mentioned by a previous poster.
