Most likely a de activated Lee Enfield from Tallaght is the way to go. Range River Mountain, has a few.

You are looking for a No.4 Mk2 .303 Lee Enfield, not sure if anybody in Ireland sells them as deacts, try Gunstar.co.uk ut they will have to comply with current EU law re deacts. You will also need superintendent's authorisation to possess this deact.

Best sniper rifle ever made by all accounts. The BA took some modern versions to the Falklands during the war for their snipers.

The Uk is probably the way to go. Plenty for sale over there. The one you want will have a "FF" stamp on it, nothing to do with the party, it was stamped on all Irish issued rifles.

Good luck trying to get one of those here!! And you deserve a kicking to go and even suggest deacting one of them too!:P:They are the so-called "Irish contract Lee Enfields" that ran in a limited serial number for the Irish govt in the 1950s.TheIrish govt at the time welshed on the deal due to lack of money, and these sat in their greaseproof wrappers until the 1990s in the UK, until they were sold to the US in a job lot, via a Canadian company Century Arms for a rumoured 10 punts a rifle.[Same crowd BTW that bought up all the surplus Irish army Luger pistols that were issued in ww2.Yes some Irish officers were issued genuine 1908 Lugers,as there was a shortage of Webley revolvers]

I saw one of them for sale at crossroads of the West gun show in San Diego. In a gunshow like that you just so distracted with stuff you will never see over here, I never got back to the table and the guy selling them.

They were new in grease and going for a ridiculous price of something like $150/200 with 100 rounds of .303.They are now worth eight times that much and are collector items in the US if you can find one...As people have copped onto what the FF means and Irishophiles have gobbled them up.

Irish contract numbers were PF309348-PF359347 Irish Republic
