Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I thought we were gonna stop match threads to annoy the other shower :P

In any case a much better game this than the last meeting, will suit Liverpool also I reckon

Decent game, proper derby style so far. The linesman on the near side has a red top under his kit it seems :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,492 ✭✭✭bennyineire

Karius terrified of going up for a high ball FFS

    Nice dive

Hardly, sure he gave him a hug

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,966 ✭✭✭Liamalone

His legs just turned to jelly with no contact in that area.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,794 ✭✭✭✭Francie Barrett

Liverpool definitely the better team so far, looking more composed on the ball.

Must be watching videos of Dominic Calvert-Lewin ;)

It probably was a penalty, but by Christ, Lallana didn't half make a meal out of it. The problem is, if you don't go down, you don't get it.

Should have been yellow for a dive

That's it. If Lallana stopped his run but stayed on his feet, nothing is given. Players feel the need to drop to the ground in order to make the referee give the pen for the impeedment.

    What sparked Holgate I wonder?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,080 ✭✭✭✭Tom Mann Centuria

    Very soft peno.

I don't blame lalana, refs have been giving penalties for as bad/worse all season. Farcical officiating.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

I thought VAR is available in this tie

How does Holgate not get a yellow there FFS

Robertson having a fine game so far, his type of game I'd imagine

    How wasn't Holgate booked?

Also...wonder what was said to him to make him go mad like that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,347 ✭✭✭✭Grayditch

Ha. Way to bottle a decision ref.

    At least yellow.
Yellow for the foul, lucky not another for the pull on the ref.

Stone wall pen for me. Everton really have regressed under Sam. Small time stoke they have turned into.

Weirdly, it's only being used in the Brighton V Palace game.
Seems sort of uneven to use it in one game but not another, in the same round of the same competition...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,966 ✭✭✭Liamalone

On second viewing, soft penalty but a penalty nonetheless. Holgate lucky not to get booked there, silly boy.

    Rooney diving as usual

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,966 ✭✭✭Liamalone

    Absolute filth from Everton.

Here we go, bitterness overriding actual sense lol

Peter Reid looks the same as when he retired.

    Some man.

Yeah, saying it was a dive was unfair. VERY soft, but given every week now, but modern football blah blah blah etc.

Yes because pushing a player that has no control over his momentum into the stands isn't at all dangerous.

Are the BBC panel on acid? Not a penalty??!

Particularly with what happened in the same fixture only a few weeks ago. Same thing exactly, stupid stuff from the defender, just as Lovren was an idiot back then. Put your arms on an attacker in the box, you're asking for trouble.

We owe Everton one from last month. Soft pens are the best when your team gets them.

    What match you looking at.

    Never a penalty.
    McCarthy is some thug.
Holgate needs a slap. Faking being spat at is pathetic.
Rooney should be off. Utterly out of control on that Gomez tackle.

Did Bobby say I’ll push you into the crowd?

And he reacted a few secs after Bobby had finished.
