Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

White quiet the dominate colour by many as is blush nude

Lupita looks stunning in anything doesn't she? Not even mad about the dress but she still manages to look amazing.

    Wow they could be sisters.
It's still my favourite look though.

I think it looks absolutely gastly from every angle.
And the puckerings on the bust look like nipples.
And don't start me on the dark roots.
But the Irish media will still give it the thumbs up!

I thought it was Gweynet Paltrow but all I can find is the 'the' pink coats dress. If it wasn't her someone certainly wore similar dress before.

Anyway it seems to me like all creativity was used up finding black dresses for previous ceremonies and there arent many great dresses at Oscars. I don't like dresses with massive bows.

She always does those clashing pops of pink but they usually work, this just looks bizarre!

I think it's mostly the shade. I don't really see it either but a lot are saying it!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,264 ✭✭✭✭Alicat

Admittedly it did come to mind immediately but I do think it was the shade of pink; it’s not worn that often.

Unusual year, this one. Some classics, and some strange decisions which didn’t seem very Oscar appropriate.

My favourites were Jennifer Garner, Gal Gadot and Alison Janney.

  • Registered Users Posts: 439 ✭✭Salthillprom

I don’t think the standard was great overall.

If Saoirse Ronan had a stylist advising her to wear that pink horror-show, I’d be giving same stylist the P45 immediately! Horrific, ill fitting, unflattering, sack of a dress.

It's nice. But she's done a lot better before.
And it's something that looks like it's been done before.
Nothing sky like or ethereal about it either.

    Lots of fab dresses,
Helen Mirren may be my favourite, again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,812 ✭✭✭Addle

Really feel like I've seen a lot of the dresses before, in my lifetime.
Does that qualify as vintage now??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,046 ✭✭✭Wellyd

Not an amazing red carpet this year. I really like Alisson Janney and Jennifer Garners dresses. But Gina Rodriguez in Zuhair Murad was my best dressed. E need to get their sh** together and put Giuliana on the red carpet on Oscar night. Ryan had barely any interviews and there was too much filler.

Awful! I’d bet something went wrong with her chosen dress for her to end up with this abomination

When I seen Saoirse in this I thought: Oh no Saoirse what were you thinking.
The only thing nice about it is the colour. It is too long at the bottom. Maybe if it had been to the knees or just over them that would have looked better instead it makes her look old there. The top is ill fitting her boobs look squished the poor girls. Her hair is too short. If the dress had come up more and her hair was longer plus better make up she would have looked so much better.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

The more I see of her dress, the more I like it. I love the length and matching shoes.
And best of all, a natural look. No fake tan!

I think it looks better from different angles. I have a sneaky feeling it was sliding down a bit, the bottom should be a little bit higher and bust was a bit lower than it should. I agree about no fake tan and restrained make up, I still don't like the hair.

I hope Madonna digs out her 'like a prayer' dress.
Loving Rihanna's dedication to the theme.
So far I like Liky Collins, Kate Bosworth and Alicia Vradkars frocks the best.
I don't see the appeal in Amal Clooney's outfit at all-or the link to the theme.
