Could anyone recommend lights to use for uplighting a house?

I've seen a house use circular lights embedded in the ground that uplight a house and I'd like to do same. Similar to the photo below.

I searched for uplights online and prices seem really expensive, in the hundreds just for one single light?

I have the HIVE smart home system and I would like to be able to control the uplights from my HIVE system. HIVE has a "smart plug" which you can control, is it possible to have a plug for uplights that I can plug into my HIVE "smart plug" then I can control when the uplights can come on from my HIVE system.

The ones that go flat in the ground would have to be quite close to the wall to get the same effect.

Thanks. It is actually the ones that go flat in the ground that I would like. They seem very expensive. I am wondering if I am looking at the right lights though?

Maybe the ones I am looking at are for driveways where they are strong enough to be driven over? I will be placing them up against the wall in the house and they will be surrounded by pebble stones. So I just need them to be water proof.

Decking lights with led bulbs should do the trick

personally I would look for something with difused light so it give the glow but without the bright spots

Yes I would suggest the ones above for a commercial fitting, however for a house and if they wont have traffic on them the ones suggested by meercat would do fine.

If you do want the effect in the picture you posted, again the ones I suggested would do the job, they may look horrible in the pictures but would be barely noticeable when in the ground.

I'd like to buy just one of these lights and test it out, what would be the easiest way for me to get power to it? Hook it up to a battery? (What size battery & how to actually connect it up? )

It's 220volts. Some fittings come with flex attached. Stick a plug on it and run an extension lead out.
