    Hi,

Purchased the Denon 2300 a few months ago and currently running it in a 5.1 configuration and now looking to add Atmos speakers to get the full benefit of the amp.

Don't have an ideal room in that it has a vaulted ceiling so limiting me options in terms of layout and speaker choice.

We had some slight water damage to the plaster board so contemplating ripping it all out which will give me the opportunity to run some speaker cable to the ceiling and adding speakers.

Looking at options for speakers I think my best choice would be something like the Minx Min12 which I could angle towards the MLP.

Any comments or advise welcome, under no rush as it will likely be a spring project.

    Thanks.

    Hi THE ALM.

I'm not sure how the Min12 would sound as Atmos speakers as usually Atmos need to fire upwards or downwards.

For in ceiling you could look a the Monitor Audio Pro 65 priced at £69 each
    https://www.monitoraudio.com/en/product-ranges/pro/pro-65/

Onkyo produce upwards firing one the SKH410 priced at £129.00

    Let me know your thoughts.

    Thanks Kenny,

In general they would work for me but the vaulted ceiling would rule them out as, the ceiling running down at about a 30degree angle from centre ( a triangle if you like), means that the upward firing wouldn't bounce off the ceiling and the downward firing also would fire down but at an angle, a bit of a problem with these types of ceilings and Atmos.

With the Min12 of similar, a bracket would allow me to angle them for better sound dispersion.

If you can take ceiling speakers ( and I acknowledge your comments above) you could use the Monitor Audio C165:http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-202897-308928.aspx?swapstore=1

These have a directional tweeter that will allow you to angle the direction of the HF frequencies ( these are the important directional ones) to offset the 30 degree angle of your vaulted ceiling and they will look and sounds way better than the MIN12 and they are not much more expensive than the MIN12 with the added bracket.

    Keep us posted,
