    Hi

Went to buy a 30Kw Leaf under the Scrappage scheme and
    was contacted by a main dealer with a quote;
    €30990 for SVE 30Kw

Yet on Nissan web site car builder it comes in at €26,390
    https://carbuilder.nissan.ie

Has anybody else experienced this ??
    Thanks

Grant has to be applied I would say...

Grant has to be applied I would say...

    This.

The Nissan website price has the grant already taken off it, whereas the dealer “top line” price usually doesn’t have that discount applied. The dealer bottom line will probably be about €1k more than the website price, to cover delivery and dealer costs.

Strange that the dealer wouldn't be clearer on that?

  • Registered Users Posts: 53 ✭✭16hill16

    Sorry to clarify
    I was quoted €35390 plus 600 for metallic = €35390
less €5000 "discount" presume this is the grant?
    hence the €30990

Looks like the price has been modified to cancel out the Scrappage offer

Can anyone confirm the price paid for a SVE model ?

    Thanks

It makes no sense at all. The 40kWh Leaf is cheaper than that!

The dealer is delusional if he thinks he'll get €30k for a 30kWh

Metallic 30kw SVE comes up as 26940 for me on the car builder site, (RRP of 23390 + 550 metallic paint + 3000 30kwh battery)

I got a quote from a dealer last October. It was something like this (round figures)

    30kwh SV 33k
Cold pack and a few bits and bobs brought it to 35k
Scrappage on my old car €5k discount
    Government grant €5k discount.

Whole thing was coming in a shade under €25k.

At the top end of the sums, not a big difference between that and a new 40kwh version, but the big difference being that the €5k scrappage wasn’t being offered on the 40kwh car.

Needless to say, I bought 2nd hand for about half that.

I got a huge price difference earlier this year. It was between Nissan dealer. One was quoting off the price book as they had to order in.....the other had the car in stock and wanted rid as it was the 24kw version.

Ring around, find a Nissan dealer with a 30kw in stock and negotiate. The 30KW is probably like Gold Dust to order in as everyone is waiting for the new model....hence why dealer is just quoting pricing book.....also they probably think that you are not going to buy it

    Thanks All for you responses

@waynegalway looks like a similar quote
With the Scrappage allowance deducted the final price is 25740 which is similar to yours

Needless to say, I'll be buying 2nd hand

Very wary of going near a dealer here as a result
How is it that Nissan UK site can show the "on the road" price

Wonder if parcel motel can handle a leaf ..:->

What dealer did you ring? Did you try a couple of dealer or just one?

  • Registered Users Posts: 53 ✭✭16hill16

Looking at different dealers online now,
Will ring around a few in the morning,
    Hoping for better value somewhere

Which dealer? That quote is a bit of a joke. If you can get one for around €20k, I'd consider it. Anything significantly more and you're getting a bad deal. The dealer knows very well that with the new model for sale next month, he won't be able to sell stock of the old model unless heavily discounted.

Try Hutton & Meade, they priced very aggressive for me before.....

  • Registered Users Posts: 53 ✭✭16hill16

Thanks @shedwedfan will ring them in the am

Reckon the dealer was chancing his arm, he loses this sale
trying to claim €4k difference as
"unfortunately all manufacturers display their prices excluding delivery and related costs. Sorry about that and we have discussed this with Nissan as it is not the on the road price. "

I emailed every dealer in Ireland a few months back, and got the same quote as the OP.
I queried them on this, and they came back with the following...

Apparently the dealers are working off different prices to Nissan Ireland.
The prices on the website are skewed because of the 24kWh Leaf.
Nissan reduced them by around €5k to get them shifted.
The price of the 30kWh was never reduced.
But still, in their car builder, you can select the 24kWh, then select the 30kWh upgrade, get the new reduced price, and no dealer will sell it to you at that price! Complete bollox.

Email is useless with car dealers, you need to either ring them but majority of time you need to visit them....no car dealer in Ireland will deal over email except Phil did with me earlier this year for a Leaf

The fact I emailed is irrelevant. I only mentioned it to inform the OP of how I got my information. I'm sure everyone knows that nobody will deal with you via email.

    Does it have 6.6kW charger?

You should be able to apply for the €600 home charge grant from SEAI and ensure you get a 32A capable charger.

  • Registered Users Posts: 53 ✭✭16hill16

    No its a 3.3.KW
Have applied for the grant (now online) but need to wait for 7 days for an offer letter before I can proceed with any works

But will install a 32 amp charge point with an eye to the future

Speaking of which, can anyone recommend an installer for a Home Charger? Dublin region
Unfortunately only sparks I know is in Australia

Try electric autos.ie, they are offering service to install and buy charger

Nigel Daly is the guy who done the ESB installs

Ask the dealer if they got the Home charger as part of the SEAI scheme in 2017. I’d they did, they may pass it on. You only have to have it fitted then.
