Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Biggest game of the season if not this decade.

    London Blue vs. London Red.

Captain Jack will be leading the gunners out. Sanchez will sit on the bench for the last time with Arsenal, with a helicopter due to pick him up at half time.

There's also a greek giant on the bench should things go south
    .

There will be banners, there will be banter and it's live at 8.

    Arsenal:

Ospina, Chambers, Mustafi, Holding, Bellerin, Wilshere, Xhaka, Maitland-Niles, Iwobi, Welbeck, Lacazette

Subs: Macey, Mavropanos, Mertesacker, Elneny, Nelson, Walcott, Alexis

    Chelsea:

Team to face Arsenal: Courtois; Azpilicueta (c), Christensen, Rudiger; Moses, Kante, Fabregas, Drinkwater, Alonso; Hazard, Morata #CHEARS

Tonight's subs: Eduardo, David Luiz, Zappacosta, Bakayoko, Willian, Pedro, Batshuayi. #CHEARS

If its half as good as last weeks match it should be a cracker.

10 minutes in and it's a boring enough affair so far.

Iwobi must have been told to play more like Sanchez, sadly the lad thought Wenger meant lose the ball in dangerous positions

We play way too much football JW cut them through the middle we get into there box then bring it back to the half line from there 18

Want some VAR action so Wenger can moan about that after the game.

Will VAR have authority to get Hazard a booking for diving, or just reverse the penalty?

How many times has Hazard thrown himself to the ground and got a free?

Don't think Kante was expecting that.

Kicking someone on the foot isn't a foul now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,984 ✭✭✭Soups123

VAR is deadly not slowing it down and the suspense when he's having a look is deadly

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Barr

Refs just winding up Wenga for the craic.

I feel Sky are gonna have to up their production a bit to add to the suspense. Maybe having a camera on the VAR and the incident on a split screen so you can see his/her reaction as the replay is being viewed.

All that incident showed is that there is absolutely no point in trying to stay on your feet when you feel contact.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Barr

I thought looking at Moses face was suspense enough.

Wilshere injuring himself is the biggest surprise of the night.

That’s how you know it’s been dull and predictable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Barr

Christensen should have done much better there.

He loves the old 'drag the foot on the ground until you feel contact' trick.

They also need it sponsored by a big corporation like KFC do in the NRL.

Why? It's basically cheating. He is the one who manufactures the contact and then goes down and gets a free.

Try and avoid contact, get kicked anyway, try to stay up, no penalty. **** it, go down with any contact.

What was that from Iwobi :pac:

So much classic Arsenal on display tonight.
    Iwobi is useless.
Wilshere gets injured by the ball.
    Ospina is an absolute clown.

Maybe we'll get a goal just to shut me up. :P

There's a bit of a difference when you're instigating the contact yourself to try to con a free or penalty. There was one on the first half where he nutmegged someone, kicked the ball miles in front and thought the tackle was coming, but it didn't so he dragged his right foot behind him and tripped over to get a free.

Where's the line exactly? How much onus is on the player in possession to avoid contact?
