Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

On holiday with family and sharing a bed with my sister. I haven't been feeling well and my lungs have been wheezing at night. I do feel bad for waking her but she shook the bed all night long every time I did it in an attempt to wake me up and stop me from doing it. I could kill her.

I love my new loose light pants , such a change from skinny jeans. I don't love how the material turns into a ball of wrinkles in the wash that don't even fall out hanging on the line. FFS , I don't do ironing :(

New trousers are made of shiny material that makes a swishy noise when I'm walking. I'm sure no one else notices it but me but it's making me super self-conscious.

One of my, erm, larger colleagues is wearing shiny pants and flip-flops today. Leaving aside the fact that neither of these items are in any way office appropriate, the noise of her thighs swishing together and the flip-slops slapping off her feet is driving me to distraction.

Damn so people can hear the swishing? Damn my ample thighs! They're really comfy trousers!

I don't have flip flops on. Not in the office. That's just inappropriate workplace attire as far as I'm concerned. So it's not me! :D

Very trivial but why do the cleaners in the office feel the need to keep watering down the washing up liquid? It's not like they're personally buying the stuff. It's basically just water at this point.

It's so hot. An American friend asked me "is your AC broken?" :pac: Oh American friend, we don't have them things here. The building I work in is older than time itself so it's like working inside a greenhouse.

I am SO FUCKING SICK of people not showing up for appointments. Anyone who complains about hospital waiting times should realise that the public themselves are the main cause of delays. Out of 22 patients today, 5 just didn't bother to show up, last Thursday, 6 didn't bother to show up. Out of 8 patients on Friday, only 2 showed up. Just out of those 3 days, that's 17 appointment slots wasted, that could have been given to 17 patients sitting on a waiting list. The reason why this annoys me so much is because I'm the one getting the angry phone calls from patients on waiting lists.

I forgot to order dog food and today at 12 was the cut off for delivery before the weekend so I need to find something I can feed 2 of my dogs until I can get a delivery on Tuesday. One of my dogs is allergic to chicken so it's a challenge finding food available in a regular pet shop that doesn't have chicken in it.

I'm after putting the washing machine on spin twice now and I still don't want to hang out the washing but I should be taking advantage of this weather and washing everything I own!

This sentance is not working in my head. 🀔

Another TA. Darling husband was off today. Told him to push the button to start the dryer around 9am. Came home to a sodden pile of clothes in the basket.
"Dear husband, why are the clothes still wet? Did you not put on the dryer like I asked?"
"Yes darling, and I took them out when it was finished too" he says, looking smug and expecting praise.
"And did you check to see if they were, in fact, dry?"
"Well they seemed a bit damp but I thought they were fine"
    They are SOAKING WET.
    🙄

There are no consequences and the public know there are no consequences. It's the public system so it's all free so everyone just does whatever they want. If you have a long term illness and miss an appointment with the department I work in, you'll get another appointment when you ring because realistically it would be unethical/immoral/illegal(?) to just discharge someone with one of the long term illnesses my department deals with.

TA at male drivers who assume, because I am female, middle aged and driving a bog standard old car, that I am going to hit their car when reverse parking, or pause (to let them go ahead)when I have the right of way, or be unable to manoeuvre around something, or that I wasn't going to overtake that tractor the minute the line was broken...
I don't do feminism but Goddamit, that is sexism in all its glorious ignorance.

Twice this week men were acting all affronted for some of the above situations. Well I will use that right of way thank you, and yes, I will reverse into that parking space without hitting your precious car.

This really shouldn't be a TA but it is. There's a man who keeps chatting me up and asking me out as he knows I'm single. He's really sweet AND hot. I've been really evasive with him as I've been dating someone else. But people keep saying that multiple dating is completely a 'thing' these days and totally acceptable.

TA I haven't made that leap yet as I find it all a bit odd and think it could be a bit of a head melt. Decisions, decisions!!

I normally only buy wine that has a screw cap (yes I'm classy :pac:). The other night I ordered a bottle of wine with a takeaway and it was a cork bottle. I discovered that I don't actually own a corkscrew that works and ended up using a drill to get the cork out :D

True class is wine in a tetra pak.

TA that you can't do anything with freshly painted nails for like an hour because of the paranoia to f it up.

I find the new way of dating off putting. Maybe I'm just too old and prudish but the idea of dating and being intimate with multiple men, until I pick the lucky winner, is kinda icky. I know they say you are keeping your options open and all that but is it really that hard to just date one person for a month or two until you decide if you want to start a relationship?

    Mentally drained and emotionally wrecked.

Almost three weeks to the day since the shock of my uncle through marriage dying unexpectedly, and gradually getting back to normal, his brother and life-long friend (and my godfather and my father's best-man) took his own life this morning. A day after that family buried another member of the family. The poor man was literally heart-broken and admitted as much a few days ago.

It's the sort of thing that knocks you for six and has you questioning the what-ifs. In a stupor since been told the news at work this morning.
