2-3 cm of snow already lying here, more still falling from the sky. If my internet connection will remain up (I hope) I'll try to post up some photos later.

showers trying to make their way here in South Meath but they keep breaking up just before they reach me. Not a flake or rain drop here in over 2 hours.

Relatively heavy snow shower just passed through Waterford City. Started as rain then sleet then snow. Nice big flakes but cleared away fast.

intermittent light wet snow showers. Perhaps something a bit more intense making its way across the midlands now

Heaviest shower of the day here now, wind is making it look like a blizzard, not staying around though

After a few attempts earlier it's snowing in Wexford. A bit messy but it's something.

a few bits of snow dust trying to get going here.

edit: some flakes now and what is falling is trying it's best to stick onto the car roof, if we could get even 5 minutes of decent snow it would probably stick.

All day in Galway city: Big black cloud rolls in, rain starts and saturates the ground, turns into snow for 3 minutes, precipitation stops, sun comes out again.
    Repeat every 15 minutes.

snow mist shower here now, the grains are so tiny. The showers look really heavy on the radar but in reality they are very light. However it is starting to turn the car whiteish, if only we could get some proper flakes then we'd be in business.

edit: some proper flakes now at long last!

See Netweather radar below. Doesn't paste well but you can make out that Ireland is the island on the left! Have been watching it all day. Pink slowly taking over. Pink was confined to Ulster at 11am this morning. If this is correct then you need to be a bit away from the west coast before it turns to snow.

Since 3.30pm, all the showers here in Knock, Co Mayo have been of snow. In the last 15 mins, it has gone extremely dark and snow pelting down. Ground very wet however since we had mostly hail and sleet all day, but if it persists as is currently, it will definitely stick
