    Meath is in Leinster

Yeah and arklow is in Wicklow but only counties with any appreciable snow lying is Ulster and Connacht to lower levels. Look at the pics from Ulster and Monaghan in particular. Winter wonderland in parts.

Of course there is still time for more and I hope Meath gets plastered.

Fair play Syran! first time I recall you reporting snow this winter.

Before today, I hadn't had a flake of snow since 4th March 2016.

Pretty decent fall in Sallins just now. Unlike the earlier flurries, this one appears to be sticking to the grass. We'll see how long this lasts...

I'm hearing the m50 is coming to a standstill already.

I mean, it's fair enough, some places may see up to 3cm of snow!!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,235 ✭✭✭Oneiric 3

Curious thing about the snow in these passing showers is that the snowflakes are very 'fine' and small. Very unusual to see from such a humid westerly. Temp currently standing at 0.2c. Dp -1.0

Its coming to a standstill due to crashes. Not the snow. Been a couple of them but i think the one southbound between J10 and J11 is the worst.

They're fairly big and chunky flakes here in Dublin, which is strange because they're the same showers that are passing over you towards Dublin.

Not heavy enough to get a decent covering, but nice to look at.

EDIT: It's changed to the small snowflakes you speak of now, which are actually sticking more readily. Cars/grass/roofs/trees etc getting a covering.

I've no idea if it's sticking or not, just that the traffic is already very crappy
