    Hi

We're hoping and in the initial stages of planning our trip this year and hopefully be able to squeeze a month holidays. Our love affair with France continues, but we are thinking of spreading our wings! Looking at the end of June when the kids finish school. I'm thinking go via the UK for cheapist ferries. Has anyone done this and where did you go.

    Thanks as always!

I have been through the UK a number of times and went to France via the tunnel but didn't always stay in France!

Went to Amsterdam once for 4 days. Campsite across river near Central Station so very handy. then went over to Munster in Germany for a few days, down to Neurberg in the Eifel region, over to Luxemburg and finished with a few days in Bruges before getting tunnel back.

Another time went to St Dizier in Champagne region to a Castels site (via Reims) then into the Black forest to a site in Munstertal for the remainder of that trip. German site was excellent and back then there was pretty much free travel on the trains in the region for tourists (vouchers from campsite) so we went up to Frieburg. We were near a lovely village called Staufen so cycled in there to the municipal pool/waterpark most days.

Another time just went to Paris via the tunnel and stayed in a campsite in the Bois de Bologne. Very easy way to access Paris and very central. Got the train across to Disneyland.

The region around Colmar and Mulhouse looked nice as we were driving to Germany but have never stayed there. There is the national park des Vosges in that area.
