Why hold a press conference so? Doesn't compute.

He appears to be generating a Reality TV-esq 'Will he, won't he??!?!' cliffhanger moment, because that is all Trump cares about - ratings and attention. (and money)

That and appealing to his base.

He's clearly been told that he has to sign it to avoid the shut-down.. but by playing to the crowd and delaying he can claim to his base that "the Swamp made me do it"

Iran has apparently been hacking US universities.

Announced the day Bolton is appointed. Here we go, things are about to hit a new level of crazy.

If that is the connection then the hypocrisy of doing nothing with Russia will be a whole new level

He signed it but didn't read, said that nobody had read it and the GOP had basically rammed it through.

Of course the likes of Fox News won't report it as such, they will go with his line about the Dems, but in reality he just called out Ryan and McConnell.

According to this report in Politico, not only is the bill short on things like the wall, it actually goes against almost the entire policy that Trump has sought.

    https://www.politico.com/story/2018/03/22/gop-congress-spending-spree-440005

    Some of the key points:
    AGRICULTURE

USDA and the FDA would get $23.3 billion in discretionary funding, despite the White House’s calls for billions in cuts.

And Food for Peace, a food aid program that Trump wanted to eliminate, would get extra money, totaling $1.7 billion.

    EDUCATION

The measure doesn’t include a single dollar for the private school vouchers that Education Secretary Betsy DeVos has made a key part of her tenure.

DeVos’ budget also proposed eliminating a $1.1 billion program for after-school programs. The omnibus not only rejected zeroing out the programs, but boosted them by $20 million to $1.2 billion.

The Trump budget also called for cutting the Federal Work-Study program in half — the omnibus instead gave it a $140 million boost.

    ENVIRONMENT

The budget for the Environmental Protection Agency — which the White House sought to slash by one-third — escapes unscathed.

    HEALTH

The National Institutes of Health, instead of seeing its budget shrink by $5.8 billion, will get a $3 billion increase — which lawmakers say is the largest ever.

Trump just got owned by the GOP! Starting to make sense why he isn't happy. This has nothing to do with the Dems, or if it does it doesn't reflect well on the GOP as even with the majority they achieved nothing.

Just on the spending on the Wall. Notice that the HS secretary stated that they got a 10% increase, but that this has to cover new planes, new personnel, repairing the existing wall etc.

So, petulant Don again - fake news of it being a defeat for the Dems - he does what he said he wouldn't.

On the CA connection to Don, it seem's he might have to check his staff's employment credentials before hiring. NYT are running a story that Bolton used CA.... https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/23/us/politics/bolton-cambridge-analyticas-facebook-data.html

Copy of article heading over report.... Bolton Snapped Up Facebook Data From Cambridge Analytica
By MATTHEW ROSENBERG 11:08 AM ET
The political action committee founded by Mr. Bolton hired Cambridge Analytica specifically to develop psychological profiles of voters — and it knew the firm was using Facebook data.

Now rumblings about McGahn, White House counsel, 'around the end of the year' per https://www.politico.com/story/2018/03/23/don-mcgahn-to-resign-timing-482179

    Guess that means by July.

    Swamp that drain.

This must be the item mcmustache wrote about on Page 164 re a cyber security reporter from Politico saying something was coming down the line.

Trump basically signed his Presidency away, it's a one party system, always has been, always will be.

Nah, its a two party system. Reps for old money interests. Dems for new money interests.

There's a few good eggs in there.. Jim Jordan I respect alot. Rand Paul I genuinely feel like is a good person. Some not might agree with his Politics or whatever else, but his dad was the same and I feel like they genuinely care. Tulsi Gabbard from the Democrats side is another.

You're 100% correct, people aren't happy. Midterms are all but done now. He tried to save his neck with the fake veto but he and the GOP are getting hammered.

One has to ask themselves how in the world do the Republicans have the the Presidency and both houses, and yet keep getting owned by the Democrats.

They sought legal advice regarding CA's involvement and the advice was it wasn't legal or at least very dubious. Mercer named on the document too. They went ahead with it anyway

The problem is that the abnormal has been normalised so much that you have to wonder if anyone really cares anymore.

    That is the problem

“First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.”

If you don’t think this is happening again well then there is no hope!!!

If what CA did was criminal in nature, and they had prior warning from the qualified person they sought legal advice from that their activities were legally questionable and probably unlawful, that makes the offence/s worse, one/s of criminal conspiracy, not just an accidental breaking of the law. Forwarned is forarmed.

What's the worst possible outcome? They'll be a slap on the wrist, that's it.

Lest forget, the data wasn't even used in the heat of the Presidential election. I'm not making excuses, but common. Gotta have priorities

That depends on the prosecutor. An offence is an offence.

Of course it does, and all of Washington is corrupt to the core. We'll play cowboys and Indians here on this forum, but it's obvious to me, the whole judicial system is a farce in that state, and so is the media.
