You don't have to make up an imaginary scenario to know how a president popular with liberals would be treated if he had affairs; you can look at how Clinton was treated. He was impeached.

So, if a Republican-dominated congress impeached a Democratic president for his sexual sleaze, how will they treat a sexually sleazy Republican president? Will they

    (a) impeach him, because they are men and women of principle keen to defend the dignity of the presidential office without partisan fear or favour, or

    (b) do nothing, because they are rank hypocrites?

Russian diplomats getting expelled left right and centre.

60 in the US have 7 days to leave. Not a great development tbh in terms of the wider world. I hope they all do, Germany the US etc have some pretty concrete evidence that Russia actually did the poisoning as this is going to be great propaganda material for Putin.

It will also cause issues between the EU and Russia where economic ties need to be strengthened, a balancing act needed from Merkel

    Pieces coming together now.
Look at this. Cambridge Analytica employed by UAE in 2017 to do the same: link Qatar to terrorism.
Cambridge Analytica, the data mining firm involved in swiping the data of more than 50 million Facebook users to sway elections and under criticism from US and British lawmakers, was involved in anti-Qatar campaign, too.

The US data firm, whose work for Donald Trump's campaign attracted the interest of US investigators, had admitted that it was paid money by the UAE to spread negative information about Qatar.

NBC News reported that the parent company of Cambridge Analytica, SCL Social Limited, filed documents with the US Justice Department's Foreign Agents Registration Unit disclosing $333,000 in payments by the UAE for a 2017 social media campaign linking Qatar to terrorism...

...The $333,000 contract between SCL Social Limited and the National Media Council of the UAE included creating multiple ads on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social media sites with the hashtag #boycottqatar, drawing ties between terrorism and Qatar, NBC said in its report.

More here including examples of the fake news adverts and explaining the links to Russia. Remember the excuse to start the Qatar embargo was a hacked Qatari state website showing links to ISIS.

Nadar was at a meeting with a rep of Trump (Erik Prince) a rep of Putin and Saudi in the Seychelles. He is cooperating with Mueller.

China has made some overtures to stop the trade war. It now comes down to negotiations between the countries but at least disaster has been averted for now.

Having said that it has hardly undone all the damage from the past week.

By Golly, I really need to know what kind of media consumption creates this mindset.

I mean, since when did liberal come to mean "people who don't like Trump"? Really, i'm curious as to how you can end up with that view.

Thanks for that link. Yes, Nader has already co-operated with Mueller, and was actually in UAE when recalled back to the US for further interviews by Mueller, within the last week. If I were him, I wouldn't be leaving the US !!!

There's an interesting link up in your attached article, and also worth remembering Kushner's role in seeking loans from Qatar for his family's 666 5th Avenue millstone, through pressure from Saudi Arabia.
Qatar had not long completed a purchase of significant shares in Rosneft, Russia's state-owned fossil fuel company. Rosneft is a client of Trump cyber-security lead Rudy Giuliani’s law and consulting firm, Giuliani Partners, which is also tied to close Putin allies at Alfa Bank. Investigative journalist Grant Stern has written about the Rosneft deal, saying: “Circumstantial evidence strongly indicates that President Donald J. Trump and his campaign associates brokered a massive oil privatization deal, where his organisation facilitated a global financial transaction to sell Russian Oil stock to its Syrian War adversary, the Emirate of Qatar.” The Emirate of Qatar was another Giuliani client.

Trump hosted a Qatari state-run business owned by the QIA, the buyer of Rosneft shares in the deal, in the Manhattan Trump Tower for many years. Carter Page, who acted as a gopher in the transaction, was working directly for Trump at the time. Having flatly denied meeting any Russian officials in 2016, Page later contradicted himself as it emerged he met Sergey Kislyak, the Russian Ambassador, during the Republican National Convention. Kislyak is both a spy and recruiter for Russian intelligence, according to intelligence officials.

So basically, it seem's that the Trump organisation was working both sides of the fence, while a war was ongoing in Syria. And Russia was "unaware" of the privatization sale of it's Oil Stock. War profiteering comes to mind.

    Trump to fire Shulkin

    Source: The Hill

President Trump is preparing to fire Veterans Affairs (VA) Secretary David Shulkin, according to a report from The Associated Press.

A source told the outlet that there is a "50-50" chance the president will oust Shulkin within the next two days.

Shulkin has faced backlash after an inspector general report said he misspent taxpayer money on lavish travel for himself and his wife.

The Hill has reached out to the White House and the VA for comment.

I'm not sure about that tweet, think it may have been written by someone else having a laugh. Voluminous is a word that would often be associated with the most prominent assets of female porn stars, it's certainly not a word you'd expect from a man with a bigley vocabluery volcabeary lot of words.

    It's his account so...
Perhaps he has a "word of the day" calender

Don't forget that he can disown tweets that get him in to trouble.

Remember last year when we were all expected to believe that Dowd was responsible for the trump tweet which inadvertently admitted that he knew that Flynn had lied to the FBI at the time he fired him!

President Trump has reportedly ordered the expulsion of 60 Russians from the United States on Monday, including 12 people identified as Russian intelligence officers who have been stationed at the United Nations in New York, in response to Russia's alleged poisoning of a former Russian spy in Britain. It also includes the closure of the Russian Consulate in Seattle. In a call with reporters, Senior White House Officials said the move was to root out Russians actively engaging in Intelligence Operations against the country, and to show that the United States would stand with NATO allies. The officials said that the closure of the consulate in Seattle was ordered because of it's proximity to a US Naval Base.

Russia's ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov, said that, with regard to the US response, "US only understand force."

"I mentioned in my statement in the State Department that I consider these actions counterproductive," Antonov said.

"I said that the United States took a very bad step by cutting what very little still remains in terms of Russian-American relations."

What interests me is whether Mike Pompeo showed Don some info from recent CIA [post Obama Admin] files on Russian FSB or GRU agents in the US, something Tillerson wasn't made aware of before his departure, leading Don to alter his view on the Russian Admin.

The link above acknowledged that some of it's report was originally reported by the NYT.

Nader is so central, that he was already co-operating with Mueller by the time we found out who he was.

As a paid fixer for the UAE's ruler, it was he who set up the meeting in the Seychelles between Erik Prince (brother of Betsy Devos, and particularly bad egg) and an emissary of Putin, Kirill Dmitriev, with a view to setting up a secure back channel to Putin, that US intel couldn't crack. Best of all, Nader was present in the Seychelles with them.

This is just another Nader connection.

It's a downward spiral for him, really. Trying to one story to cover up or deflect from another and I would say, running out of road.

The deputy press secretary said today that the president denied the affair with Stormy.

Now I'm no fancy town lawyer (*sticks thumb into braces) but is that not accusing her of lying amongst other things which is akin to defamation?

If he said that then I guess he just played right into Stormy's hands.

From the interviews I have seen with her lawyer, this is exactly what they were looking for.

Do you think so? He still has a fairly stable support base who will just agree with everything he says and the lack of current credible alternatives, such as an inanimate carbon rod, still cease to exist. The DNC must be dreaming of a Jeb Bush candidate in 2020 or anyone else bar Trump. The GOP are stuck with him until 2020 baring Trump deciding to use nuclear weapons or some other drastic event that would irrefutably tip the balance one way or another. I don't they will impeach Trump as it would be political suicide to do and not putting him on the 2020 ticket will ensure they will lose the next election.

I suspect a Democratic candidate will win in 2020 as the people that wouldn't vote for Hillary will likely vote Democrat again and there will be a major vote against Trump such is his nature and you have to think that the DNC will be better prepared for 2020.

watched the 60 minutes just now. man, american tv sucks. there's only about 10 -15 minutes of her talking. the rest is ads, other dorks talking and more ads for other 60 minutes shows.

anyway, she comes across as very smart and all that, but it is kind of a nothing story to be honest and she just seems in it for money at every point in the story.

fair play to anderson he gave her lawyer a good grilling in fairness.

The White House denies allegations of an affair and any involvement in threats. "The President doesn't believe that any of the claims Ms. Daniels made in the interview are accurate," said spokesman Raj Shah.

Apparently a lie too big for SHS to say.

Also alleged by stormy's lawyer- Cohen wrote to her previous lawyer, the one who supervised the agreement, and told him that she was seeking counsel elsewhere and that the email was for his eyes only, and no one else. Avenetti claims he has the letter and that this is proof Cohen wants him off the case. Dear God, Cohen is an idiot

Well if he denies everything, then the NDA doesn't apply, as it can't be about him.

Haha. Mostly true then. That's what "not accurate" usually means in cases like these.

    Oh dear ....

    Kyle Griffin

    @kylegriffin1
Michael Avenatti says that a February 22 email that Michael Cohen sent to Stormy Daniels' old lawyer shows that Cohen tried to keep Avenatti off her case; Avenatti claims the email holds more proof that Trump was involved in the effort to silence Daniels. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/stormy-daniels-lawyer-email-shows-cohen-tried-keep-me-case-n860156

According to CNN, the White House said Don said Stormy was not accurate in what she claimed...... IMO, that is capable of a dual-reading. 1. That she was not lying; just got her facts about what went on between them muddled. 2. That Don is admitting that his previous straight-out denials that anything happened between them are absolutely not true.

I'm not sure if this is a reaching-out by Don or his lawyers/advisors to Stormy and her lawyer for a deal, this one supervised by her lawyer, but it might be.

I can't understand Cohen sending her letters claining she defamed him in the interview, seemingly in connection with her saying an unidentified man threathened her and her daughter and she would know him again if she saw him. She must know what Cohen looks like by now. I didn't hear her say or name Cohen in relation to the alleged threat.

    Ho Ho Ho ....
Stormy Daniels sues Trump lawyer Michael Cohen for defamation

Washington (CNN)Porn star Stormy Daniels filed a lawsuit for defamation on Monday against President Donald Trump's personal attorney Michael Cohen.

The suit, filed by her lawyer Michael Avenatti in California, came a day after CBS aired a tell-all interview with Daniels regarding an affair she alleges she had with Trump more than a decade ago, and which the White House continues to deny.
This story is breaking and will be updated.

She's a porn star, back in the day the Kennedy's would have taken care of her before she ever made the tabloids, a glitzy car crash or a drowning incident would occur for sure. The fact she is free to speak her mind and peddle her truth or lies says alot about Trump's integrity. What he does in his personal life involving his sexual life is his business and dragging it all over the media like this is a disgrace.
