I wouldn't be surprised if Londonbeat's "Thinking About You" gets covered soon. Played acoustically of course and slowed down to a quarter of its original pace with added depression.

They played the last date of their European tour of that album in the Point Depot about six months after this. The set list is ridiculous:
    Wake Up Dead
    Hook in Mouth
    Set the World Afire
    Hangar 18
    Lucretia
    The Conjuring
    In My Darkest Hour
    Dawn Patrol
    Devil's Island
    Tornado of Souls
    Take No Prisoners
    Good Mourning/Black Friday
    Holy Wars... The Punishment Due
    Mechanix
    Peace Sells
    Anarchy in the U.K.

And a little known band from Seattle called Alice in Chains supported.

The Jam absolutely belting them out on Sky Arts, look no further. Primo bangers, before Weller went vanilla with the Style Council.

    65 uk hits I believe

Heard a podcast about Rick parfitt by mick wall and Joel mckiver (dead rockstars )the difference in lifestyle was incredible

Obviously both hoovered up a tonne of coke but Francis lived like a king and Rick was a disaster losing a fortune on bentleys , he was on a Bentley waiting list constantly but had no interest once he got them and sold them at a loss every time

Early Style Council had some fine moments, some superior to the Jam if I may say. They may have lacked the energy, but had more sophistication and variety. Songs like Shout to the Top, My Ever Changing Moods and Speak Like A Child are easily the equal of any Jam stuff.

Dunno about that , as a bass player the jam were very sophisticated:)

Not knocking the Jam at all, and some great bass playing as you say. Just felt the original comment was a bit harsh on Wellers follow up stuff with SC, which I do think had greater range. I was talking sophistication in terms of the overall sound.
