If you see anything else of interest out there do let us know

News this week that excellent Youtube channel ScottishTeeVee has now uploaded almost all of a 1978 ARD Documentary on Rory Gallagher (except for a few bits that didn't slip by the copyright censors). That channel is well worth a browse for other gems

The BBC has a new article on the myths and realities of lost recordings in the music biz
    https://www.bbc.com/culture/article/20210528-the-discovery-of-mythical-lost-tapes

Finally the Duet which Geldof probably wishes had been wiped over or strangled by copyright disputes features in Dustin - 30 Years A Pluckin' (RTE2 Sunday 1.45pm)

Could they not have got a Tipperary person to do this? I'm highly offended.

Channel 5 have postponed ‘Britain’s Biggest 90’s Hits: 1995’ until next Friday - instead they are showing the film ‘Braveheart’.

    Can’t think why.

Haven't posted in a while, but been keeping an eye on the listings - thanks as always Skid!! :D

Was very disappointed in that Band doc to be honest. Not a fan of Robertson and this was a complete whitewash/revision of history in his favour because, sadly, the others aren't around to defend themselves or state their case. However, they made it quite clear when they were that Robertson wasn't the saint he pretends to be.... Only thing films like this make me wonder is with all the archive footage around (a lot of which I hadn't seen before), why isn't more of it officially released?? Such a waste to be left locked away somewhere.

Stumbled across that 1971 series online. Was very uneven and disjointed, felt like they were trying to cram too much into too short a time and consequently it just felt like they were jumping from arc to arc without ever finishing anything. Some great tunes though! Although, they were only snippets - never got the full song. I was left wondering what was the point really, but it's grand to stick on to pass an hour of an evening....

Watched the Paul Weller gig from the Barbican as well. It was a great cure for insomnia...... :pac: It was very well done and orchestrated, but totally lifeless as a visual spectacle. An album would be good though. One last thing - Boy George might have found new teeth, but his voice is gone.

Finally, if anyone hasn't seen the Anvil! film yet, my question would be "why?". Go check it out this weekend, it's one of those you have to see it to believe it things.... lol

unfortunately when they were really good, in the 80s, they hardly appeared on the Beeb, and when they were running down their career after "Up" they were on the Beeb a lot. At least they finished the program with "The One I Love" which still kicks ass.

I wonder did that enormous record deal they signed work out in the end for the record company, those final 5 albums must have sold a lot less than the previous 5.
