Why is the blues stuff on a non Friday?

Why did I see Brian Kennedy twice in this week's listings?

Still, a good deal of worthwhile stuff this week, eh? Nice one again Skid.

Cheers lads, yeah BBC4 are throwing more music shows into midweek these days, I don't think that Blues one has been on much,

    RIP Doddy :(

Presenting the third biggest-selling single of the 1960’s in the UK (couldn’t find any songs by Jim Bowen)...

Ah nice one. Back in the had a lot of fans who wished he would do more of the music and less of the funnies.

Now, about Jim Bowen - curiosity got the better of me when WMM posted that and ... Jim Bowen did a Was (Not Was) Cover !

    Harry Hill's idea apparently

Ken Dodd and now Jim Bowen. In true bullseye fashion the non dart player went first

‘The Word Girl’ by Scritti Politti - another classic :)

My favourite Sledge is definitely Percy.

    Sorry, ladies.

Dixie Peach got a dull enough show for his debut.

    ‘Kayleigh’!

    *switches on wind machine*

*turns machine away from Fish to avoid seeing ‘too’ much Dick*

Christy Dignam was rumoured to have been lined up as the replacement for Fish in Marillion once upon a time.

Not sure if there was any truth in that.

I could picture Christy singing Kayleigh, it would suit him.

"The Crowd" would be a good answer on Pointless for Number Ones of the Eighties

A shaky, yet solid start for the young Peach.

    6 out of 10. :)

    And RIP Liam O’Flynn :(

Hopefully, some Planxty stuff can be shoehorned into the weekend schedule. :)

Well said, I didn't see anything scheduled yet but I saw this posted on Twitter earlier which has an old No Disco Planxty special.

This Blues doc is fantastic. Love it.

Howlin Wolf has probably the best name ever.

    His tunes are the greatest.

Was there anyone who didn’t use a Yamaha DX7 in the 80’s? It was quite revolutionary I think, you could do allsorts.

    Ants in the Cannibals pants.

I had an RD 350 at the time. It was very hard to keep the front wheel on the ground.

This China Crisis Song always reminds me of ‘I’m Alan Partridge’ - it’s played in the first episode when his car has been daubed with rude grafitti :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,444 ✭✭✭✭Skid X

China Crisis are playing support to Paul Young in Sheffield Hallam University on Thursday.

Almost 40 years going now, fair play.

The Conway Brothers were never the same after Russ left.

    Contemporary pop culture reference

    I need a lie down.

Apparently Jimmy Savile and Dave Lee Travis appear prominently in The Crowd video, that's why we only get a brief clip of it.

    So...many...synths...

Take a look at this Geddy Lee from Rush used in the late 70's:

This BBC Scotland Songs of Ireland concert on BBC Four is decent enough.
