    IN BETWEEN DAYS :)

Now all we need are f Friday..... Boys Don't Cry and Close to Me. Would love Love Cats too.

Sounds like some crowd pleasers coming now  starting with Lullaby.

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,230 ✭✭✭✭Hurrache

One of their best songs now IMO, Lullaby.

Was it one of the incarnations of Oxegen? Sounds remarkably like the last time I saw them. Was a long damp day and they were last up, but by then I just wanted to get home so left before they finished to get the bus back to Dublin in order to beat the crowds (I was day ticketing it)

Yeah, almost certain it was that one, in Punchestown. It was freezing cold and wet while they were going through their back catalogue of mostly slow songs in the first half of the set.

(I think it was the same day that The Hothouse Flowers played an extended version of 'I can see clearly now the rain has gone' apparently oblivious to the fact that the rain had not gone and was in fact getting stronger by the minute)

Michael Eavis woke up this morning and found Chris Martin milking his cows.

    “YOU STILL HERE?!”

  • Registered Users Posts: 19,629 ✭✭✭✭Ol' Donie

Jo Wiley is there presenting the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show on BBC2 there.

Which is like Sunset Strip in the 80s compared to anything Chris Martin has ever whined.

    I miss Glastonbury already :(

Time to watch The Cure’s set back on the iPlayer :)

Checked out The Chemical Brothers set too in full, as I was watching The Killers performance at the time - awesome

I am half thinking of doing an AirBnB over the border next time Glastonbury is on and getting the full Red Button and multiple live streams that the Sassanachs won't give us. That's not weird, is it?

Anyway, the Glasto Hangover kicks off with the BBC putting out all kinds of repeats and not one but three TOTPs. Having said that there is a new doc about Charley Pride and a film about Rapper and former Refugee M.I.A.

Also there is another two hours of Glasto on BBC2 on Monday but it might well be the same as Friday

Anyway, that's more or less that. The Best Guitar Instrumental Soundtrack Of The Week would be Local Hero, Soundtrack by Mark Knopfler (Film4 Saturday 11am) Lovely Stuff

Women's World Cup final is on Sunday at 4pm.

I'll just have to make do with the first half, no way I'm missing Barbara Streisand: Becoming an icon 1942-1984.

Did you have to register to stream from the BBC site, Skid - I just find "download" links that require that

I think I just got lucky with it.

I registered ages ago with an account (mostly for the radio), it is saying my location is London. Might be worth trying to register and give a UK location.

Not really sure how I got in, trying to gorge on as much as possible while I can.

All tennis and no TOTP make Welsh Megaman something something. :(

It is poor that they appear to just have prerecorded continuity tonight, so viewers have no idea what is happening with the schedules.

    Ah well.

I've been on a massive Killers buzz all week.

I'm actually quite embarrassed that I forgot how amazing they are.

    Agreed :)

Never been a huge fan myself, but they put on a great show - possibly the best of the whole weekend.

    Taylor Dayne there,

I was at the Comedy thing in the Iveagh Gardens in Dublin once and American comedian Tig Notaro did a set.

Her show was entirely based around her bumping into Taylor Dayne many times long after Taylor's career had ended

Except nobody apart from me and one other guy had ever heard of Taylor Dayne. The gig came to a stop, one girl helpfully found a photo of Taylor Dayne on her phone and passed it around the audience. Tig Notaro got rather annoyed and said "This **** doesn't ****ing happen in New York" where apparently her Taylor Dayne routine was famous. I don't think she ever got to the end of the routine

    https://www.vulture.com/2017/03/tig-notaro-on-finding-hope-in-a-story-about-taylor-dayne.html

Look, this is why I leave the encounter with famous people stories to sligojoek
