That's more or less that. If you have seen anything that might be watchable not listed do let us know. Thanks, you're very good

The movie version of Baywatch is on Film4 (Thursday at 9pm) which as far as I know doesn't feature New Order performing on set like they did on Top Of The Pops, with David Hasselhoff sniffing around desperately waiting to be invited to join in

New Order had some form for this kind of Beach based antics, they did an advert for Sunkist but apparently had a change of heart. Some lad on Youtube comments "They were offered $350000 for this, recorded it and hated it so refused to allow it to be used.

However it was sent to Quincy Jones as a mistake when the 48 tracks were sent for his Blue Monday remix and one of the engineers made a bootleg which Sunkist then used long with bits of Touched By The Hand Of God video clips.

Aired a few times before NO had it pulled. They were never paid.

    True story directly from Hooky."

Missed this series the first time around but it's on again.

The Dublin Airport cap is damaging the economy of Ireland as a whole, and must be scrapped forthwith.

Pretty ballsy move for The Jam to split, right at the peak of their powers.
    ? :D

Well, for Waller really. The other two didn't really have a say. But you're right, it was a brave move by him, he was what, about 24 at the time I think ? The Style Council was ultimately pretty successful for him, both commercially and critically. You have to kind of admire Wellers somewhat contrary attitude in relation to his back catalogue. I wouldn't be a big fan of his solo work, but he steadfastly refuses to live in the past and play greatest hits type shows. He really rations out that stuff.

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,444 ✭✭✭✭Skid X

Hello, hello. This week all sorts of repeats are going on, not so much of the new stuff but maybe there is something to interest you.
The Proms are a bit more lowbrow than usual with some decent looking film score concerts. Elsewhere you have that Story of The Sidemen repeated on BBC4 while RTE get into the game with a Bruce Springsteen Doc which overlaps with The Blues Brothers. Shoot the scheduler ...

It's sort of an original song too, they reworked an old song You Better Run and turned it into You Better Swim. There isn't a soundtrack out there that couldn't be improved by putting a reworked Motorhead song into it ...
