Recording Sports Matches - Which Camcorder?

Total newbie to using camcorders. 15 years taking sports photography with my 300mm f2.8, 70-200mm f2.8 & 24.70mm f2.8 but I'm branching out now for my nephews sports team. I've full approval for all parents to record the games as well.

I already have a GoPro which will be used for behind the goal so I need to get a camera to be used from an elevated position. I basically need to capture half the pitch at a time so I don't need to be focusing in close on the action.

So I am wondering what budget camera is the best to start with. I want to start with a budget camera and then trade up when I get to grips with it all.

The quality doesn't have to be amazing. I just need to be to watch the games back and do some analysis/editing on the games. Can anybody recommend something that would suit a small budget? Advance on a tripod/sd cards etc.. would be good too
