Who would actually want Lorenzo. He's not a team player. Let's not forget he ran to race direction to give out about his team mate Rossi in a situation which he wasn't involved in. Then last year blocked Dovi from passing and potentially winning the championship.

Dorna - a MarcVds Yamaha ride is being lined up.....

Jonathan Rea to Moto GP in 2019 ? Apparently there is an offer on the table for a factory bike....

That would be great to see.  Superb rider but that kwaker is very much part of his success, he struggled for years on  poor Honda - right bike though could see results (to state the bleedin' obviouse!)

The Honda seems to be a very hard bike to master though. It may not be a very successful change.

lets just say rea goes to honda.

    mir goes to suzuki

    danillo to ducati

it leaves a lower chance of dani staying in the motogp paddock?

Paddock wisdom is Aprilla or DucatI ,Joan Mir likely to replace him at Suzuki.

Mugello is Lorenzo last chance to gain an unlikely third season at Ducati - announcements are expected to follow shortly

a factory Ducati or a satellite?

Pramac possibly - that would mean Petrucci going to Aprilla

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,709 ✭✭✭Infoanon

As expected the rumours /news is coming thick and fast at Mugello

Lorenzo will be making an announcement at the Barcelona GP but will definitely be in moto gp for the next 2 years on "a good bike"

That bike will be a factory Yamaha at MarcVds (or as is rumoured it's replacement the Malaysian circuit owners team SIC)

Joan Mir has not signed for Suzuki yet - but is working hard to complete the deal

Fantastic weekend of racing - Moto 3 race was a 3 way battle between the title contenders,Moto 2 was possibly the best Moto 2 race ever ! What a last few laps again between the title contenders while Moto GP - Rossi on pole made the atmosphere for the weekend and although there was a clear winner the battle for second was superb.

Away from the track - rumours in Spain that Honda want to buy out Millers contact and replace Dani while the Lorenzo / Yamaha deal is all but done

Yep - Frostie has predicted this month's ago - but who to replace him ?
Unless Iannone really is going to shock us the options seem limited with suddenly Lorenzo being mentioned at Honda,"never say never" Ducati and "deal is done" Yamaha !,
Jack Miller had stated that he knows nothing about the Honda rumours and he (and his father) seem very happy to stay at Ducati .

    Cal ?

My guess..... a long shot I know.
    Lorenzo to Honda
    Pedrosa to satellite Yamaha
    Iannone to Aprilia
    Petrucci to Ducati
    Miller stays with Pramac
    Mir to Suzuki

Isn't Yamaha setting up a satellite team just for Lorenzo though? And would Marquez want him on a Honda?

The silliest of all silly seasons - Dorna are heavily involved in this Yamaha team primarily being set up as a solve MarcVds issue and keep Lorenzo in moto gp - maybe now it will become a keep Pedrosa project ?

Marquez apparently just wants a competitive team mate - Rea to Honda ?

Bradl is wild carding for Honda at Brno (when is the last time Honda had a wild card ?? outside of Japan)

More announcements are expected at Barcelona

I really can't see that happening. The new sat Yamaha or Suzuki is my guess for him.

Suzuki look tied up with Joan Mir and Rins.

The satellite Yamaha team might still go ahead so he could end up there.

This is serious musical chairs, and I love it.

"Time for a new challenge" sounds like a new manufacturer not retirement - Yamaha surely??? Or if being silly. ...Tech 3 KTM.....

There still seems to be a little doubt around Mir's contract though. I wonder could there be a satellite Suzuki team too?

    No satellite Suzuki in 2019,

    Petrucci just confirmed at Ducati.

Latest is Petronas have money to spend and if the 'new' Yamaha project does not go ahead then the Angel Nieto team may be getting the money.

i honestly cant believe lorenzo signed with honda...... bloody hell.

that will either be an amazing turn around for him or it will go tits up but i reckon he will be competitive from the get go.

danilo deserved the ducati factory ride he has been doing well on the pramac now for a while

Apparently Ducati told Jorge manager that the Ducati seat was still available after the race on Sunday only for the manager to inform Ducati that it was too late.

Jorge has since said that some in Ducati wanted him to stay

I’m a Rossi man but was happy to see Lorenzo win on the Ducati.
As for him going to Honda, there’s lots of talk about him adapting to the Honda.
Well every top rider that has ridden the Honda has won on the Honda, So I can’t wait for next year.
Yamaha up their game, , Pedrosa to SUZUKI I hope, just to see him on another bike, I think it would suit him.
And the Duc progress a little bit more and we have a cracking season.

Dani has a great record since he joined the motogp it really would be a lose to the competition if he was to leave.

surprised syhrain only got a one year contract i assume it is in the hope that folger will be back for the 2020 season?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,467 ✭✭✭h3000

I wonder will Dani actually just retire. He has had quite a few of nasty injuries over the years.
