    Hi,

I'm moving house soon and want to set up a decent surround sound system for tv.
Budget isn't fixed but ideally under €500. I could stretch that amount IF it makes an extremely notable difference.
I don't want cables running along the floor.
I'm willing to consider getting an electrician in if cables need to be run behind walls. What are the options for rear speakers- cables/wireless etc?
How simple is it to turn on/off the speakers- do I need to turn on AV receiver and it'll automatically pick up whatever is coming into the tv (memory stick, Humax Freesat box, Netflix etc.)?

Not a must have but if I can play music through the speakers wirelessly it'd be great.

    Anything else to note?

    Thanks,
    Pa.

    Hi Pa.

There are no Home cinema system that we sell that have wireless rears unfortunately, all speakers would need cables running to them.
Speaker cable starts at 1.29 Euro per meter
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-900187-symphony-100.aspx

You would also require a sublink cable. Cambridge produce a 7.5m one priced at 27.99 Euro
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-10538-aud100-75m-sub-cable.aspx

You would be starting at the Yamaha YHT1840 system priced at 349.00 euro
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-202921-yamaha-yht1840.aspx

Next up at a little over budget would be the Yamaha RXV483 paired with the JBL Cinema 5.1 priced at 529.99 Euro
    https://www.richersounds.com/tv-home-cinema/home-cinema-packages/yamaha-rxv483-and-jbl-cinema-510.html

For connecting up to th ereceiver you could go Optical from you TV into the amp and then anything connected to the TV will be outputted through the amp.
You can also connect any HDMI ready devices to the amp with HDMI and the amp will act as a switcher and can switch between ant source connected to the receiver via HDMI.

For Music the RXV483 has both Bluetooth and Airplay for streaming music wireless. (Airplay requires an internet connection).

Let me know if any of the above might suit.

    Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply. Ignoring the wireless music feature would the more expensive option still have better sound quality?
    Thanks again,
    Pa

    Hey Dinneenp.

The RXV483 is a better performing amp than the one that comes with the YHT1840 pack.
Better sound quality and much better features.
