I noticed the Costa cups last night. They are getting product placement with the CO-OP. Roy's and Fresco's better watch out.

I don't remember him mentioning a wife
She has taken her time looking for him !

The Toyah/Eva story is beyond ridiculous, Eva could have had a way better exit story

How does Toyah and Eva think they can live in the same street and hide a secret like that and why on earth would they?! Eva is a softie...she'll make a very loving mother and she's not a 14yr old from 1960s Holy Catholic Ireland for Jaysus sake.. ever hiding her bump behind the strategically placed pile of praties on the kitchen table while her father plays the fiddle!!

You do know that they’re looking for writers? How’s your chance.

I think anyone watching the show regularly knows they should be looking for a new writing team. :D

This storyline is ridiculous..... How far gone was the surrogate.....Peter has enough secrets to keep without another one assuming she tells him.
When phelan is caught I doubt I will bother watching anymore. The f*cker better go down for everything and not leave some of the crimes open ended.

It's just not believable that Eva would think this was a good idea - hiding from her new beau who she really wants to make a go of things with, carrying the baby of her rotten ex, who did the dirty on her for 9 months, (and hiding it from him) only to hand it over to her sister's sister who is now with her sister's ex husband who is a terrible father, serial cheat and prone to alcoholic relapse......

Coronation Street producer Kate Oates has confirmed that Pat Phelan will get his comeuppance this year.

The Weatherfield supervillain – played by Connor McIntyre – has infuriated fans with his reign of terror, which has seen him cause the deaths of Andy Carver, Vinny Ashford and Luke Britton.

Fortunately, Kate has now promised that the tables will turn at some point this year – with Phelan's wife Eileen finally at the centre of the action.

"2018 is going to see the demise of Phelan. Connor is so up for this challenge. He's so excited about it and he's playing it brilliantly," Kate told Radio Times.

"What I like about Phelan's downfall is that it's very much to do with Eileen. It's to do with her realising who she's married. It's to do with Nicola and that child."

Promising some highly dramatic action scenes, she added: "There'll be a few twists and turns – we have some stunts coming up, which will be exciting."

Phelan's horrible behaviour reached another peak earlier this month, when he successfully schemed to get his arch-nemesis Anna Windass sent down for GBH – a crime she didn't commit.

The schemer's daughter Nicola Rubinstein has now teamed up with Gary Windass to bring down Phelan once and for all, but it sounds like Eileen will be the one to watch as the story reaches its long-awaited conclusion.

Does anyone ever think of the practicalities of these half baked ideas?
Like how the baby will have a valid birth certificate?

Plus, her sister (Leanne) tried a similar lie by hiding that Steve was the father of the baby and the lie lasted til the child was about 3 months old.

Also recently didn't Faye mention social media sites such as What's App and maybe Facebook in a conversation with Tim.
That's unusual. They normally don't name drop websites either.

This Eva/Toyah baby storyline is as stupid as the one about Michelle finding out she took home the wrong baby 20 years after the event. So, so stupid

It's official! ITV is strapped for cash.

Home and away have been doing product placement for years, everyone in the bay owns an iPhone and the Stewart’s have an IMac computer and I remember they did a big story around April’s iPad a few years back.

I don't really think that's product placement. Or if it is, it's really not as shameless as Costa coffee and the co-op.

People have iPhones, and iPads. I'm sure Tyrone has mentioned doing an MOT on a Ford Corrola once or twice. That's not product placement for Ford, it's perfectly reasonable in the context of a garage to mention an MOT on a car.

Why the sudden change from Fresco's to Co-op? Because they are getting well paid for it. Same for Costa.

feels a bit dis-jointed. phelan has not been threatening or hassling faye or Tim yet he is putting on his suit for the funeral and is announcing to sally that he is taking faye away and "that its up to Sally if she wants to come or not!"

I have seen in soaps in the past they don't well known mention social media sites or search engines and instead they'd have a strange made up one.

Ya but the only phones you ever see people using is iPhones, that’s not normal, not every resident in a village or town would own an iPhone, it’s unrealistic.

why do they all have perfect hair in Corrie? - perfectly straightened or permed or curled .. and you never see them in audrey's or anywhere - in real life people dont all walk around with perfect hair... its normally windswept, or greasy as hell or roots need touching up lol

I've had enough of Alya's whinging now. Jeez, they were only together a wet week. She didn't cry that much when her Dad was killed

we are saying the same in our house - and they were always bickering in that week lol

I have seen in soaps in the past they don't well known mention social media sites or search engines and instead they'd have a strange made up one.

That's probably because Facebook with over a billion users has no interest in paying ITV for promoting their brand on Corrie and ITV could get in hot water for using their name or logo without permission so it's easy to make up a name for social media.

As for it not being normal for everyone to have an iPhone, I both agree and disagree. In my office it's seems I'm in the minority with an Android phone. Everyone else has iPhones.

Shameless product placement to me at least shows either greed by the production team or desperation for cash. As I said they already use Fresco's, why the sudden change?

James Bond films have always had certain brands in them as part of their brand, but when they veered away from them, people noticed and there was discussion online about it. Two relatively recent examples were Heineken appearing a couple of times in Skyfall, and a Sony Ericson phone appearing multiple times in Casino Royale.

at last she has told him she is in love with someone else ... whats the betting when we come back after the break it will all fall apart like a wet fart, and she will say something like "i was just testing to see how you would react" or something stupid like that - i be very surprised if she comes 100% clean

Many of the ones I went to were in England, Scotland and Wales. Maybe things have changed nowadays but I'd wager it's more like a lazy plot device by one of their amateur writers.
