Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Vodafone tv install

I’m getting Vodafone tv and fibre installed next week. I note that a small cable will need to run from the router to the tv box. There are three existing phone sockets in my house none of which are close to my tv. Can the engineer install a new master fibre socket beside tv so I can plug everything in at the same place? They will need to run some sort of cable anyway so can they run cable from old phone socket to new fibre master socket beside tv?

    Thanks

The installers are normally fairly helpful in my experience and will do their best to come up with the least troublesome installation for your home, however its never easy hiding cables, so expect some cable to be visible, however its very small cable, so it shouldn't stick out like a sore thumb.

    I have the same issue.

The engineer told me that I'd have to get the master moved ! - previous supplier was Sky so not sure who I'd contact for this but it seems and awful lot of hassle.

Would it have to be connected to the master socket or would it run from an extension point ? - We are Fibre to the cabinet, not home, so I'm guessing its a standard line coming in

Did the Vodafone engineer tell you to move it? Did they not install your fibre and tv? What is your setup?

    Thanks

I have the master socket in the hallway to the left of the front door & the tv is in the room to the right, other side of the doorway.

Phone line actually comes into the back of the house at roof level, so quite a convoluted path and the walls are thick.

engineer told me that he couldn't get the cable from the box to the tv because there was no way to cross the hall apart from tacking it to the PVC door & that wasn't practice (and would look awful), so I had to arrange to have the master socket moved to the same room as the tv.

I'm FTTC not FTTH if that makes any difference
