Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

well please then, enlighten us all on what "real" Irish culture is

How about everyone just likes whatever they want and not try define ourselves based on some rose tinted view of what everyone did hundreds of years ago?

Where did you work exactly, let me guess someplace rich like Dubai where its very multicultural with lots of Europeans where english is widely spoken and learnt by the "locals".

    Kuwait/Oman/Sharsha/AlAin/Abu Dhabi ...

Seems pretty similar. But perhaps if you can give an example of immigrants in Ireland trying to change our culture it might help.

Right. Here is a photo of some Irish travellers from some decades ago.
    Dz_my2GWoAAm6kW.jpg

The current culture exhibited by some of their descendants would be unthinkable to them.
    4221396001_5567404896001_5567402646001-vs.jpg?pubId=4221396001&videoId=5567402646001

But of course that is nothing to do with this:
    DOMIMyZWkAUM52w.jpg

There was mass change in the culture in the north of our island through Scottish immigrants some centuries back. I don't think Cuchullain (had he been real!) tied himself to that rock to fool enemies into believing that he was still alive by using his orange sash.

Go onto Moore St. in Dublin. The street was synonymous with Dublin native traders selling their produce aloud. Now the street is characterised instead by Arab phone shops, Polish food shops, and African hair extension parlours.

The ultimate trajectory of all this of course is a homogeneous nothing. An airport lounge where once there was a country.

The idea of immigrants NOT changing Irish culture is laughable. Even more laughable is the suggestion that unless we have an exact definition of Irish culture in the first place, we cannot assess how it might change. This is tantamount to saying that the sea does not erode the land because one cannot point to a defined piece of land that used to be there before. Even George Soros himself wouldn't be so crazy as to deny the existence of our native culture.

Was surprised, but i reckon he had the story right.
10 years ago they would have said "10 years ago it was great, but gone to the dogs now". Go back 10 more years and they would have said the same. Repeat to infinity.

Basically dude you made an allusion because to state your point specifically would have revealed your prejudice. Now that you've been called out to clarify you've backed off.

Ah yes prejudice and racist to want immigrants to add to society rather than leech like enough of the native wasters we already have. my bad, you see the term racist is so diluted now most people dont give a **** about being called it, me included. Yeah im new march 2014, your observation skills are impeccable my friend. I have a feeling you didn't add much to the society's you went to so i can understandwhy you defend immigrants who want to do nothing but leech.

A great example of the benefits of Multiculturalism, when you watch a video and you can't tell if its Dublin, Baltimore, London, Durban, Amsterdam etc

Illustrated by the fact that a lot of the replies on twitter think the video is from the United States.

Ah well....at least RTE can make our own version of The WIRE in a few years.

Lol what a cesspool of a thread. You can tell most people posting here are sub 80 IQ. A few jumps to conclusions (black kid mistakenly assaulted by cops = death of Ireland) and a few appeal to the ‘golden’ age (when nuns threw babies in cisterns) and citing wikipedia as proof of irish culture and you can tell why nobody takes these people seriously in real life.

It applies to them, non Irish scumbag carrying a knife and his sister in a dressing gown in the middle of the day trying to assault members of the Gardai. They dont seem like they are making a good contribution to Irish society...

    Where possible, DEPORT.

Jumping to conclusions. Firstly the child is 15 years old and cannot work. Secondly you don't know whether the adults in the video work or not. Thirdly
the nationality of the people in the video has not been stated. Irish people can be black too.

There was an article posted somewhere at the weekend and the comments amused me they were all based on the following...
    1. Schools forcing kids to masterbate
    2. Chemtrails
    3. Foreigners diluting our culture
    4. Soros
    5. Gay agenda

Like take Soros for example... How the **** does a thick dope who has neither left the village or learned anything useful in his/her life know who Soros is...

    Gemma o bleedin Doherty that's how :)

Yes I have a problem with importing African people and herding them into welfare ghettos which are no different from African ghettos in any other country.
