Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not an avid reader of it, but it's probably one of the few newspaper that is still printing and surviving into the coming years, truth sells.

Meanwhile: Times Ireland (aka Irish Times, which has gone even further left leaning recently) announced this week it's to make most editorial staff redundant
    https://www.irishtimes.com/business/media-and-marketing/times-ireland-to-make-most-editorial-staff-redundant-1.3899808

You're a tad wrong. Times Ireland is the Irish edition of The Times(UK edition) not the Irish Times.

Fair enough, but could group the Sun group (and Express in the uk) as the biggest sellers. Then you have 'the World's most read' (online) english language newspaper, yes the aul DailyMail.

Why? It'd hardly be the most ridiculous complaint that has garnered traction. If Gardaí walked off the job every time a ludicrous complaint was made there'd be no Gardaí.

    Can you clarify your question?

Lads just ignore this guy, regardless of what evidence you put up or whatever you have encountered first hand this guy will pour scorn on it..

Any truth to EJ doing the dirt on AK and TB? JN wasn't to happy about it and it was rumoured that he was somewhat involved the the Balmoral fued / murders of TK and NM.

I dunno but from what I’m reading on this thread it kinda smells like SH and IT might be involved.

    https://www.irishtimes.com/news/crime-and-law/darndale-murder-victim-was-wheeling-his-child-in-buggy-when-shot-1.3900823?mode=amp

"The man who was shot dead in Darndale on Wednesday had only become a father four months ago and was wheeling his child in a buggy when he was killed. He was gunned down outside Our Lady Immaculate Junior National School in Darndale."

A serious drug debt and slot of coke to kill someone while wheeling a child.

The two shootings are been linked back to the Parker murder, and both knew there lives were at risk, is this their own or opposite gang?

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,302 ✭✭✭✭stephenjmcd

No shooting according to journalists on Twitter

Is there a full moon? Three shootings in 24 hours is pretty crazy. Little ****heads running around acting the hard man with guns with no respect for life.

Expect some tough talking tomorrow from Harris and Flanagan. Actions would be better.

Gardai aren't robots, they're scared and rightly so, I'd say arm them but we've a better chance of every criminal handing in their guns than that happening.

We already have armed gardai and rapid response teams etc, if we armed all gardai the criminals will just arrive with better weapons and shootouts will happen and gardai will be killed.

Not to mention I wouldnt trust 90% of the gob****es in the gardai with a baton nevermind a gun. Not our brightest or best.

Exactly like the chap that shot dead Mark Hennessey when he could have been easily arrested and put up for murder. We could have had more answers than questions.

    More guns isn't the answer.

Whether you trust them or not you should try living in a country with a really bent police force. You would be on your knees being thankful for the country that you live in.

Yeah he defo should not have shot that prick in the shoulder who was stabbing down at something. Turns out it was himself but could have been Jastine. Would have been way better if the tax player had fork out about 80 grand a year keep the prick locked up.:(:(

if we don't arm them more gardai are likely to be killed..crime is only going one way in this country..we're not quite a succesor to London yet but we might soon be a Bradford, for example.

That only happens in really really corrupt nations like Mexico and maybe Brazil, if we continue on with that logic why have police at all? they only upset the criminals with their presence.

I lived in Kingston, a more corrupt country (Jamaica) nevermind force you'll be pushed to find. I was never on my knees being thankful over there or when I came home. I don't have to pay bribes here when driving to work, that's pretty much the only difference.

You think Mexico and Brasil are really corrupt? Try living in reality corrupt x 10 countries like half the countries in Africa, middle east and Asia!

You don't have a notion at all.

    It's called escalation.

We don't need a fully armed police service here. We have units. We can have more of them but no we shouldn't arm all guards. It means all criminals will then want guns.

    Understand that.

how many Gardai have died from gunshot wounds in the last 10 years??? You forget 14 years ago we had the Drimnagh/Crumlin feud, how many Guards died then?

We have armed Guards, they do their job well, they are trained, I'd rather not live in a country where every thicko that comes out of templemore is handed a weapon.

Dublin is nothing like Bradford and nothing like London.
