Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

His/Her spelling was fine when private messaging Charlie Flanagan albeit partly in txtspeak.

Reading about this fella Gill recently and his address is listed at Malahide Road, Swords. Surely if he’s a target there’d be Garda protection in place?

Also how are the newspapers writing all this stuff about the Kinahans naming them! Photos etc. When it comes to Mr Big & Mr Flashy there’s no photos or real names being used. Weird?

I’m not so sure of the reason why the papers name certain crims and others they use aliases but in terms of Mr Big I don’t think he’s directly under threat from anyone therefore no Garda protection

I'd say the Gardai have a big enough sway about who gets named and who doesn't. The crime journos are under the thumb of the Gardai.

Sounds like Bomber Kavanagh may be doing a stretch inside if some of those tweets earlier are accurate.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,154 ✭✭✭Jeff2

If a nick name is used then the media can make up what ever stories they like about them and they do.
They also do with named people they believe will say nothing about it.

It's all spin to sell stories and that's what their job is.

Yeah I'd say the taser is only a holding charge. I'd say they are building a case against him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 686 ✭✭✭ghostfacekilla

What difference does the taser charge make? Is the ankle bracelet just to insure he doesn't end up in Dubai as well?

Dubai has always struck me as a strange bolt hole for the Kinahans. Drug trafficking in the UAE merits the death penalty.

Probably very little in the way of bi-lateral extradition arrangements.

  • Registered Users Posts: 686 ✭✭✭ghostfacekilla

I wonder was there any truth that a kinahan linked property was raided by the UAE authorities last week.
Look at how lax the spanish authorities were with criminals evading arrest and justice from the British isles judiciary for fifty years.

Judging by the stupid threads that start at 3 am quite a few but buying drugs and actually being affiliated with them directly is two different things.
I used to buy coke off lads years ago. Doesn’t mean I have any affiliation with them!

Yeah, but those regimes are fickle and you wouldn't exactly be guaranteed a fair trial. If things take a turn, they are in a jurisdiction that could sentence them to death. It does lend a bit of credence to the JohnSmth allegation that they are protected by the British and are ratting.
