    Hi folks, I am just wondering is there someway to ascertain co-ordinates from the Land Direct site in order to re-plot a site accurately onto CAD or MapINFO etc?
    Or is it possible to obtain a site in a digital format?
    I am trying to accurately plot the boundaries of 2 sites as per the Land Registry record.

    You can buy the underlying map in digital form.

    shop.osi.ie

    Usually the boundaries follow the OS map lines. If they don't you'll have to buy a hard copy of the Land Registry map to scale and overlay it on the OSI map.

    Bear in mind that the land registry maps are frequently wrong so if an established agreed boundary exists on site this takes precedent and the maps should be adjusted to match the conditions on the ground. Of course if there's a disagreement then it's a touchy issue. For example when the OSI digitised their maps the Land Registry moved any boundaries that they had close to is lines onto those lines without checking either the accuracy of the lines or the agreed boundary position on the ground.

    It's not always simple!
