Anyone running a UPS at home?

Have 2 NAS's at home and with a couple of recent power outages I'm concerned about the reliability of the storage if the outages occur again. I'm not really looking for anything that's going to keep them up for hours, but rather something that can keep them up long enough for them to receive the shut down signal and turn themselves off.

How often are you losing mains? Only loss of service we've had in years was due to trips by ourselves.

If the NAS runs a full OS then getting an off the shelf UPS shouldnt be too expensive or difficult, desktops are easily 300W while NASs tend to be 50-100W, but if they're QNAP/Syn etc Im not sure about running the UPSs agent to trigger shutdowns.

The alternative, again if not a self contained unit, is BBU RAID cards that just flush the data to drives and don't need to keep the whole box up for those few seconds.

    Ballparking:
    Device List
    Qty Product Watts X
    1 Synology - Disk Station DS508 82
    1 Netgear - ReadyNAS Duo RND2250 35
    Total power consumption: 117 watts

    117 / 0.9 = 130 VA (Tiny)

Thats nice and neat, fits on a shelf, totally overpowered for the two NAS.
