    Hi,

I am thinking to switch my current account to Bank of Ireland and get better mortgage deal. My %10 deposit is almost ready in my credit union account. Can you please advice that how long do I need to wait before submit my mortgage application? Would 6 months salary credit sufficient in my new account?

    Thank you.

    Hi Reiss777,

Thanks for getting in touch with us here on Boards.

You can apply at any time for a mortgage and you don't need to have held a current account with us for any specific amount of time to do this. You would need to provide six months of statements from your current bank. We've more information on mortgages for first time buyers here.

    Thanks
    Tara

    Hi Honestfrank01,

    Thanks for your post.

A number of factors are taken into account when you apply for a Mortgage with us including your deposit and ability to repay. So it would be best to discuss this with one of our Mortgage Specialists and you can request a call back from them on our website here.

    Thanks,
    Sarah
